And so the year rolls around yet again to Krauthammer Day, the day on which we all celebrate Charles Krauthammer’s confident assertion eight years ago that:

"Hans Blix had five months to find weapons. He found nothing. We’ve had five weeks. Come back to me in five months. If we haven’t found any, we will have a credibility problem."


Or nearly all of us celebrate it anyway. Charles Krauthammer himself seems to prefer to mark the occasion with an entirely unrelated Run, Paul Ryan Run! column. Which is a little sad – after all it has been five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus five months plus thirty days or so since he first put his, and his friends’ credibility on the line. It would be nice to see him (and others) mark the occasion more formally.

I think that this comparison glossed over the fact that Sharpton forced the Democrats to look at a few issues that were being glossed over during his brief campaign, but overall, it's an accurate assessment. Trump is a crass jackass whose candidacy is either as a publicity stunt or a severe case of egomania.

I personally hope both he and Sarah Palin run in 2012, so they can split the idiot vote.

I think he's spot-on with his Trump analysis. I just hope, however, that it doesn't catch on for a while.

Let Trump carry-on right in to 2012 with his divisive nonsense that makes him, the rest of his ilk, and those who refuse to distance themselves from his illogic look like idiots. Hopefully it fires up the President's base while making his opponents look like extremists -- offering independent voters a clear choice, away from lunacy.

i agree. his characterization of sharpton is a bit harsh, since he actually discussed important issues, unlike trump.

I dont get the throwing sharpton in there, I mean sure maybe ten years ago, but the truth is

Al Sharpton is a player in the democratic party now, whom even President Obama takes more seriously than he takes Jesse Jackson.
