Why is it that 19 people was shot in broad daylight and not a peep on black forums.

Why is that?

Tom Joyner had it on BlackAmericaWeb and spoke about it this a.m.

You do know there are other forums than this, right?

Well I did see a post by Bigirl on this forum. It must have been done late night.

Was 4:39 pm yesterday afternoon as soon as I heard about it. What is pissing me off is 3 out of the 19 are in critical condition, 2 were 10 year olds who were just grazed but still and why is there no massive manhunt like for Boston? Why are tv programmes not being pre empted for special reports on the manhunt? Why is nobody referring to it as a tragedy? Sadly we know the answer to these questions but it has me

Whether it's good or bad, this is common. Like the 12 people shot a few blocks from the Capitol Building in DC two or three weeks ago. Barely any news.

Catching people that hurt black people will not be a concern to the non-blacks that run everything. And black people happily depend on white people for their well-being. So expect things to stay where they are.

Now see, I didnt even hear about that at all :smh:

I'm all fucked up. It was late march with 13 people.

I wasn't trying to be outrageous.

No I was saying it must have not got much if any media attention because this is the first I am hearing of it :smh:

I'm from here and to be honest fam I'm sickened and deeply disturbed by this. These fucking niggas have no regard for life. They dgaf about their own life so this is the shit people have to put up with. Infants, Kids, Senior Citizens, Women, Men, Blacks, Whites, these animals will kill anyone without pause. Fucking sickening.

This but what is also very disturbing is the lack of media coverage. Damn near every weekend 20, 30 people shot in Chicago, the DC thing above and SO many more but apparently Black death is either "normal" or not worthy of coverage by the MSM :smh:

I first heard about as a headline on Yahoo! and then on the main board. I'm not watching "All In with Chris Hayes" as they cover it on MSNBC. So if you haven't seen any coverage of it, you aren't looking at the right sources.

Honestly, it shouldn't be covered like Boston (though it has been called a "tragedy" and other evocative words) simply because no one died. To get that good, wall to wall news coverage, you need a body count and there is none here. I'd prefer it like this with less coverage and no deaths than more coverage because a mass of people were murdered.
Priorities, people.

I posted yesterday morning....didn't do the repost when biggirl posted because it was important and people needed to see it

Damn the media coverage, when are Black folk, in particularly, "young" Black folk going to hold those that do this shit with opprobrium. The no snitch culture, the celebration of thuggism, just to name a few. There are people in that community that know what went down. Hate for the police is large in our community, justifiable, however, how about hate for those that make our communities shitty!

At this point, we should have realized long ago that the "media" gives two fucks about us. Our concerns should be on solving this scourge within ourselves.

This! Fuck media coverage! Ya'll hoping for sympathy from CaCs?

That's what I say. When is the Black community going to stand up? Are we too far gone as a people that there is no coming back from the violence in the Black community? Shit's crazy, what some of the Black males be doing.

With Help of Surveillance Footage,
NOLA Police ID Parade Shooting Suspect

The surveillance camera images may have been blurry, but it didn't take long for New Orleans police to use them to name a suspect in Sunday's shooting at a neighborhood Mother's Day parade in the city's 7th ward. Police on Monday identified 19-year-old Akein Scott as the alleged gunman caught on tape fleeing the scene, where 19 were wounded.

Scott, who has previously been arrested for possession of a firearm and narcotics charges, was IDed by several people after the surveillance footage and stills were released, according to police, who say they are now searching for the suspect. Superintendent Ronal Serpas, who called Scott "no stranger to the criminal justice system" late Monday, had no problem issuing a stern and very ominous-sounding warning, as the Associated Press notes:

"We would like to remind the community and Akein Scott that the time has come for him to turn himself in," Serpas said at a news conference outside of police headquarters. A photo of Scott hung from a podium in front of the police chief. "We know more about you than you think we know," he said.

1. Our gun problem.

2. Thanks to Us for identifying Him.

If any of those thugs try and intimidate anyone identifying them, the community should eff' them up!

I think this is the main reason people dont say anything; fear of retaliation. We now have the exact same problem going on in my tiny formerly crime free country :smh: Those with children are particularly scared because they will retaliate against any member of your family. One guy who caught a murderer they burned both of his boats, raped his daughter then shot him 5 times luckily only leg wounds so he still alive but lives every day in fear for him and his family. Then as for the criminals themselves, maybe someone in their close family knows but nobody is going to rat out their own family so round and round it goes...

So is this the media's fault?

Brothers of US Abduction Suspect Disown Him

<script src="http://player.ooyala.com/player.js?width=560&height=315&video_pcode=RvbGU6Z74XE_a3bj4QwRGByhq9h2&embedCode=syaWdsYjo9UJ6pFB9r03lRGfgZ2wSVKy&deepLinkEmbedCode=syaWdsYjo9UJ6pFB9r03lRGfgZ2wSVKy"></script>

The two brothers of the U.S. man accused of abducting three women and sexually assaulting them over the last decade are disowning him and say they had no idea what he was doing.

In an interview with CNN aired Monday, Onil Castro called his brother Ariel Castro a "monster" and said he hopes "he rots in that jail." It was a sentiment a third brother, Pedro Castro, said he agrees with.

Onil and Pedro Castro were arrested the same day as Ariel last week, but police in Cleveland, Ohio cleared them and said they had nothing to do with kidnapping the women off city streets from 2002 to 2004 and holding them captive in Ariel&apos;s house. One of the women, Amanda Berry, dramatically escaped with her daughter a week ago, and then police rescued the other two women, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight.

Now, the 50-year-old Ariel Castro is being held on an $8 million bond, facing four counts of kidnapping and three rape charges. Authorities say DNA tests show that he is the father of Berry&apos;s child, born six years ago in his house.

Pedro Castro said if he had known what his brother was doing, he would have reported it to police. The women were held in separate rooms in Ariel&apos;s house, and Pedro noted that he and Onil never went past the kitchen, with the rest of the house blocked off with curtains. Pedro said a television or radio was always on to block sounds.

Pedro said he is grateful the women have been freed, and that "I&apos;d just tell them I&apos;m sorry what Ariel done."

Onil recounted that when he saw his brother Ariel while both were held in the same jail last week, Ariel said, "Onil, you&apos;re never going to see me again. I love you, bro."

At some point we need to take ownership of this problem and stop making excuses. We all know of families that have a young son running drugs and that he gives his mother money to support her. Do some of us know what is right and wrong?

I did not say it was the medias fault. As for this brother he SAYS that NOW but who really knows...

What I was saying about media earlier in thread was their total disregard for non white lives.

They said what they said. I'll take their word on it. I can't read the future. Maybe if more people held their family members to a high standard, some of these issues wouldn't be a problem. Unconditional love...to an extent.

What I was saying about media earlier in thread was their total disregard for non white lives.

Not trying to be sarcastic or confrontational, but is that astounding to you?

Not in the slightest but just has been more in the forefront of my mind ever since 175 children were killed in drone strike same day as boston bullshit and not a peep about it.

NEW ORLEANS - Outside a small church in Algiers, a cross marks the spot where Kendrell "Cat" Glover was gunned down Friday night.

Saturday, the pastor prayed with a grieving mother at the nearby home she shared with her daughter.

“Now I got to go put her to rest,” cried Cynthia Glover. “I lay my kid to rest.”

Kendrell Glover would have turned 30 on Sunday.

Family members say Glover was walking home from a friend’s house when two men in a black Nissan Titan pulled up. One man got out and shot Glover, who fell to the ground. But that wasn’t the end of it.

Glover's mother said the gunman stood over her daughter, ultimately firing eight shots. Cynthia Glover heard every single one.

“He showed my child no mercy. None,” said Glover. “She walked out of that door, and in less than 20 minutes my child was dead. My kid was dead.”

This is the second time Cynthia Glover will bury one of her children. Her son was murdered 16 years ago. And in the close knit community, the pastor of Greater Cypress Grove Missionary Baptist Church says the violence has to stop.

“Prayer, prayer, the more prayer we put it the more garbage we put out,” said Rev. Bryan Johnson, Sr.

Kendrell Glover was one of three people murdered Friday night in New Orleans. She's remembered as a mama's girl with a big personality.

“Everybody knew Cat. Everybody liked Cat,” said Cynthia Glover.

“You couldn't miss her, she would talk loud, someone would make her mad, you would know about it,” said Johnson. “But when she would pass the church, she would always make the sign of the cross.”

And from a grieving mother, this message.

“Rest on baby, take your rest. Save a spot for me. Save a spot for me,” said Cynthia Glover.

Family members say the black Nissan Titan had a Saints sticker on the back. If you have any information, call police or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
