wasn't she married to Kadeem Harrison aka Duane Wayne from A Different World?
They were together for some time, and they have a kid together, but they never married.

Kenny Lattimore is gay. Would no be surprised if that was some arranged shit.
Her voice is much to strong for those backup singers. She needs some serious singers behind her. Need to call them chicks that were singing for Anita.
Flex is married to shanice and I think Jermaine Dupree was fooling around with chante alsoIs that Flex wife?
She's always been fine with a killer body and very good voice. Unfortunately, her voice doesn't have any distinctive characteristics. That and she's always been more than willing to use her body to get ahead in the business.
Well, Toni Braxton slipped into that spot. It’s funny because most of the songs that Babyface wrote for Anita Baker she turned them down and the songs went to Toni Braxton, which made her a star. That’s when Anita Baker left the R&B scene and wanted to do more jazz ensembles. She could easily have slipped into the spot that Anita Baker has vacated if the songs were right. She has the youthful gritty funky soulful vibe already going, ts just the damn songs are crap....
Chante does have a distinctive characteristic its her voice. How many singers can you name with that much range, and the voice remains clear as a bell regardless of the key?
You may be thinking of the Perri sisters. Who are bad in their own right. Anita did fuck them over too.
I still play this CD especially when traveling. Not even sure why, but I play this and EnVogue like crazy. She sounds great. I used to play this song on repeat back in the day.
She's been married twice, looking for a third which gives me pause. I'm a give a little, take a little type but the really fine redbones I've been romantically involved with were off the chain in bed, but way too difficult to live with.
She might be too. But I'd still take a shot.![]()
Naw. Just saw Anita for Mother's day. She has 3 backup singers that sound excellent.
51Looking damn good to be in her mid 50s!

I'm just getting started. I haven't even gotten to Motown, Stax or Atlantic yet. I'll stop now but you get the idea. There are many very good to great singers. Only 3 or 4 exceptional singers. But when you hear Chante Moore, can you tell it's her from the first note? Unless you're a real fan I doubt you can. Whereas, say, Jean Carn, boom, right from the start you know it's Jean.
So maybe you misunderstood me. I didn't say Moore had a bad voice, I just said she doesn't have a distinctive voice. And that works against her.
When I saw your list I knew then you didn't understand what I was referring to in regard to a distinctive voice. Chante Moore and Mariah Carey both possess the cleanest voices I've ever heard, Jean Carne-5, is also there. There's only 3 living 5 octave singers that sing R&B, They are that unique.
Octave - a series of eight notes occupying the interval between (and including) two notes, one having twice or half the frequency of vibration of the other. To give you an idea of what an active is look at a piano every 8th key is an octave. But when I speak of range I'm speaking octaves but within that range the clarity must also be there. Artist within the 5 octave range are very rare, an that's what makes their abilities distinctive.
Interesting list I did hi-lite the ones that come close. The only singers in Chante's range is Minnie Ripperton-5.5 and Mariah Carey-5 and
There's a number of 4 octave singers Teena Marie-4 and Denise Williams-4 a nod. Angela Winbush-3. Lisa Fisher-4 Patti LaBelle-4.

please don't be trueThere's a long standing rumor that she is a head case like Halle Berry.

Vocal range comes in very low on the list of what makes a singer good, very good, great or exceptional. Lady Day had a little over 1 octave. Would anyone say she couldn't sing better than some 5-octave screamer? Not anybody with a functioning ear. It's phrasing, attack, ear, vocabulary and so many other things before we even get to range.
Also take note that I said my list was far from complete.
They were together for some time, and they have a kid together, but they never married.
Nah. They were married.
My man, I'm a musician. I understand music theory. Lots of singers have 4 or 5-octave voices. Can they sing? Not many. I said DISTINCTIVE not how many octaves in their range. You have some singers like Aretha, Gladys and Patti that may not have as wide a vocal range but they will sing circles around Chante Moore and Mimi.

she doesnt scream those whistle note ive heard her sing within 10 ft from me she exhales gently and it comes out she has control of that every now and then the note comes out a tad bit after the sound of the exhale same with all the other whistle register singers
I dont know much about music theory, but when you talking about distinctive voices, you know who it is as soon as you hear them...Example: we know Macy Gray's voice...we know whitney's voice...we know toni braxton's voice...
