Car Tint

What kind of tint do you guys have on your car?
I'm installing tint on my car. Black exterior and interior.

I used to have 35% on my other black on black car and it was too dark. This time I'm thinking of 50%.

What's the best film for the money?

Any suggestion for a good installer in Atlanta?

You need to get what you like and what the law says is legal. Also, make sure you get the correct type. Ceramic is best for cars that have integrated antennas. You could also get Carbon window tint, Metallized tint, and the cheapo stuff - dyed window tint film. If you have a luxury car you want to also get a good quality window strip so that it doesn't scratch the tint.

Good luck.

I had 15% Pinnacle Formula One installed on my 550 good quality and works excellent with my comfort access. Not too dark. If I need darker in the rear, I will use the electric shades. Lifetime warranty. No fading. Lol, You don't want your shit looking purple after a year. Here You go. http://www.formulaone.com/en/FilmViewer.aspx

if you pay for good tint it won't fade/turn purple. i've had my on there for a while now still looks good @ 5%

@jagu did you ever get tint?

i would have been surprised if you would have been satisfied with 50%

i usually would get 35% min in the front and 20 in the back. few more weeks and i gotta tint two more vehicles well at least one i haven't decided on if i'm going to do one of them.

I'm actually thinking about changing it to 35 but the removal fee and the fact that I'll be buying another car next summer is stopping me from doing that.

you can take it off yourself, time consuming but will save in the end. i hate 50% because it looks like nothing was even done to the windows with some vehicles.

Ok, back at it again. This time it’s a mocha interior car. I think I’ll do 35% this time. I did 55% last time and it was too light.
I found a company installing llumar charcoal tint 35 for $165. They got great reviews. Any experience with that film?

llumar is good tint, can't go wrong with it.......at that price you're probably getting Llumar CTX. If you're doing a high end car, I suggest spending the extra money for the Llumar FormulaOne Pinnacle tint....

Gonna be tinting my car soon and am trying to decide between 3M Crystalline and Suntek CIR. My truck currently has 3M Color Stable on it and while it looks great from inside & outside, the heat rejection isn't as good as I'd like it to be so I'm gonna go with a ceramic tint. Anyone have any experience with Suntek CIR tint on their car?

Do you know where you're going to get your car tinted?
If not, then check out "Tint World" in Cary, NC
I've been going there for years
Gotten 3 cars tinted from them
So far so good, seems to be good quality tint

I was gonna go to A-1 Tint on Capital Blvd. I liked the quality of what they did for my F150. I might redo the truck with ceramic as well since it's out in the open mode than my car will be. They use 3M & Suntek products

Yeah as long as I'm not going to 5 Star. I heard their service is trash. Charging like only $99 for tint & in & out quick service :smh: I saw this chick come by my boy's light shop (@beammeupscottie on IG if you're interested in getting some custom lighting on your cars) and they did terrible work to her luxury car. We even saw damage on her window & doors too which we pointed out to her.

@CurtDawg I just reached out to the other spot I was considering going to at Raleigh Window Tinting also on Capital Blvd near to the Guitar Center. Pricing for their 3M Crystaline is the same as A-1 Tint but they have slots open for as early as Friday morning whereas I'd have to wait until next Saturday to go to A-1. My dilemma is still choosing between paying $500 for the 3M tint and spending $100 less for the Suntek CIR. The 3M has the highest heat rejection percentage so I'll more than likely go with that and going back to put the Suntek on my truck.

Go legal like said earlier.. I notice chick think twice of hollering at you, because they assume you have a female in the car with you..That’s if it’s to dark. I get more flirts with my windows down then up!

Just came back from Raleigh Window Tinting. Went with 40% 3M Crystalline

BTW the service was pretty quick. They had multiple people working on my car to apply the film since it was early and wasn't busy yet. I had a 9am appointment and was out by around 10:15. They extended the recommended length of time to wait for winding down your windows from 24hrs to 3-5 days

Looks clean. I got 35%, but somewhat regret not getting my normal 20% on my new car.

At 35% mofos still can see everything in the car. I'd have to pay $150 to remove the old tint and at least $250 for the new 20%.

Crazy thing is with the 3M Crystalline, the 40% actually registers below the legal limit when testing the amount of light that is allowed through it. It registered at around 29.7% light allowed through and the legal limit is 35%. I had to sign a waiver when they installed it and the guy I spoke to was like I will probably find it easier to pass inspection at a mom & pop spot especially if I tell them beforehand what I know the rating is. I would've had to put 50% tint for it to pass inspection. They had a 20% tint available as well but I would definitely fail inspection and don't have any inside connects for inspection shops yet.
