C++ final help again

Dont you know even experience programmers have trouble getting their program to work sometimes I mean it is programming you know......its not like you gotta debug and test the shit before you sent it to customers :rolleyes:

Also if programming was so easy dont you think people would sign up for it all the time....especially when you gotta know alot of math :hmm::hmm::hmm:

That comment was stupid but I guess its not your fault you dont now any better :yes:

#include <iostream>

using namespace std;

int main()
{

cout << "You is a fucking moron " << endl;

}

Here's an example to get you started. Please note that there are a couple of things that I did not do here for you and that you need to figure out how to add. The goal is for you to learn, not to have a complete solution handed to you (and I know that you want to learn). This example will compile but it's not the complete solution.

The whole point of using switch is to avoid using if & else. embedding if & else in switch IN THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE is unnecessary and bloated. This is not the way to teach how code optimization.

The functions I made are simple and painless and fall within the scope of what Dieon's assignment. The assignment did state that he had to make FUNCTIONS for each scenario.

It's funny that you quoted my post but ignored what I said. I told him that there were things that he needed to add. This includes functions for each scenario and a couple of other things. I'm simply getting him started in the right direction.

You don't even know C++, so sit your "if this was PHP, I would know this" ass down.

:lol:

I know bad code when I see it. Doing dumb shit like unnecessarily embedding if/else in switch tells be you never commercially written jack shit.

You're hilarious! Aren't you the same cat who asked this guy to change the wording inside of his print statement because his code wouldn't compile? LMAO!

Find
Code:
printf("please enter number>");

Replace
Code:
printf("please enter number");

See if that works.

Save your critiques of me and focus on helping the kid.

:cool:

No you fuck wad, that was not me. I don't have Xcode installed nor do I plan on installing it to help this kat with his homework. Now if YOU plan on helping this kat, DO IT RIGHT, don't get him in YOUR bad habit of writing shitty code.

Since you decided to lie about it, I've edited my last post to include where YOU DID DO WHAT YOU'RE SAYING THAT YOU DID NOT. Here it is again for ya, FUCKBOY.

Find
Code:
printf("please enter number>");

Replace
Code:
printf("please enter number");

See if that works.

Again, focus on the person asking for help, not on me. You don't want it with me, paco.

:lol:

What the fuck does a typo correction have to do with YOU writing shitty code?

Answer the fuckin question, WHAT MAJOR PROJECTS HAVE YOU WORKED ON?

You're lying and trying to get out of it. You recommended that change in the context of trying to get his code to work. Did you miss you saying "see if that works" at the end? This statement that you made tells me you have no damn idea what you're talking about, let alone the qualifications to critique my code or anyone else's code.

As for your question, I don't answer to you, FUCKBOY. I'm not obligated to prove myself to you, for any reason. Focus on the person looking for help and take your sonning like a man.

:lol:

PS: You're going on ignore now. It was nice styling on you!

first of all i did post what i had i didnt mean to post the question first before posting that why i stop posting till i came back and had something of my own.

no i am not in high school i am a college graduate who wanted to go back to school.

i don't understand something. if you are in school how the fuck don't you know anything? whats the purpose of learning this shit if you aren't actually learning anything? :confused:

Did you major in CS as an undergrad? You need to clarify where you are now.

Dude, programming isn't easy, especially if you never took trig or calculus, so cut homeboy some slack.

My Java I and C++ I teacher(taught both classes) would help me alot because I was the only person with no programming experience that shit was hard.......:smh::smh::smh:

This is one major difference I noticed when I went to college and encountered students who went to more affluent schools and/or private schools; while most of the curriculum I had in high school was on par with what they learned, they tended to have more math under their belt.

On a side note, have you considered web development? That's where the money is at and will be for a while.

i hould of never ask for help i thought people were mature in here.

jd my major as an undergrad was political science

also i am learning but once again school is only once a month its hard material this type of stuff u need to have more then one classes per month

Alright, so you're a new jack. Keep at it, don't quit. I and other kats here will help where we can.

thanks for clearing that up. a class meeting once a mth is good because
you can access a lot of material to help you understand what's being
thought before moving on to the next part of the syllabus. i'd suggest
getting introductory programming books that have lots of examples and
answers to the questions so you can follow the methodology.
Lurk on a programming forum (they usually don't answer homework
questions). Find a linux program thats done in C++ and follow along the
comments. Immerse yourself its the only way you will absorb the material.
in the code.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: *fellow programmer* but what deion had looked like it was C instead of C++.not really much of a difference i know just an observation

Worse part he didn't even attempt to solve it...:hmm::hmm::hmm::hmm:

I wish I had someone to ask when I was doing my first year... let alone a porn board...

lol word but then in my case i picked it up so fast i made good side money doing other people's programs in college and also doing some stuff on the top coder website....i got one of the cliff notes on various computer languages, went through the books like an hour a day, and slowly it started making sense

deion dont mind the other dudes that are clowning....i remember helping with the other program you had issue with....shit programming is not the easiest thing to do...i applaud for you doing this coming from political science....like homie said someone or somebody on here will always be willing to help

I knew CS was never for me lol....Ya'll niggaz good like that.....Mathematcian I was not in 1994'.....Glad to see there are ppl who like coding. I stick with my Routers and switches. And networking stuff. Glad to see niggaz out here loving te keyboards and mice.....

I remember tryin to teach myself C/C++ from scratch and I gave up. I suck at math soooooo Networking was the better choice for me. You doing good broham, my homie went from CRJS(Crim Jus) to MCSE...

I do want to help. But what I cannot do is solve his homework for him. That is very bad for me and for him. And I cannot say it is OK for people to fry his brain by giving him a complete solution.

He needs to learn to do it by himself otherwise he is wasting his time. Because the nature of the programs will change from 20 lines (now) to about 2000 lines before the end of the semester. And I doubt if anyone will be willing to help him then.

So, my advice to him is to try to do it himself sooner.

But then again they say, "programming is not everybody's cup of tea".

Deion, I really hope that you aren't aiming that last comment at me, kid. The only reason that I went after dude is because he chose to be an ass and criticize my work instead of focusing on helping you. I've gone out of my way to provide you with big examples in both of your threads.

I love programming myself, but CS was just too much for me while in college. I wish I stuck to it though but I could not with a full time gig and school. Funny thing was even in my Information Systems program, there was a degree of programming, and for the semester I'll get all into it and shit, and after the semester fuck it. I've taken Java and C++ programming classes but just never enough to get really good at it.

Deion, more power to you. Coming from Pol. Science degree to coding will be tough for anyone. As JD said maybe focus on web programming/development. Get your practice in, get help wherever (online forums, tutors etc) and stick to it.

Good luck my man!

For starters he came to a wrong place to ask for help BUT I hope he gets it right at some stage though.

The shit needs a level head, patience and the desire to do it. And it takes time to do it. It's 2009!!!! Meaning there is a world of material to learn from. Unlike the 1990s...

Other than "cuming" there is no better feeling than to get your program working without getting outside help.

:yes:

I once spent close to 10 hours in front of the PC working on a program. Once I got it to work was when I realized I hadn't eaten, or moved during that whole period, but I had a smile on my face :yes:

i failed it anyway i wasnt suppose to do switch statements the prof said i forgot to calculate tax go fucking figure i ask if i could redo it hopefully he says yes if not i fail the course and would have to take it again next semester but it wouldnt be any help it the same bull shit all over

Did you start this last minute?

On top of that, you didn't give us details on the assignment. Next time copy and paste your professor's instructions so we can give you better help.

man i remember those days my last semester i was taking the last 4 classes of the major... all different computer languages...shit i was getting 5 hours of sleep a night...the only thing i would eat was subway late at night and thats because it was in walking distance of my dorm.....i lost mad weight....motherfuckers thought i had the germ or something lol...but it was all worth it being one of only 2 black students to walk on stage with that CS degree and my lowest grade out of those computer classes was a B+ (damn linux) :D
