It’s a topic to see how measured you’re going to be when presented with the topic. It’s the kind of slippery slope that the OP peddles. Expect a heterosexual vs homosexuality thread next.
This is about Hip- Hop music Only someone who’s Bi would come in here & start talking about homos wtf

“Don’t ever put busta in the same category of rakim.”
OK you made your point good opinion but that ain’t got one thing to do w/ homos wtf? :smh:

Rakim is a lyricist. We have the notion to always put lyricist over anything. There are rappers which can be better than lyricists by using only style, flow, etc.

Busta Rhymes
DMX
50 Cent
ODB
Lil' Wayne

The list goes on. Those particular names don't have to be 'super lyrical' and can trash any rapper on a record. Also your dealing with a rapper who came after a whole cycle of hip hop.. And has the advantage of evolution so to speak
So yeah Busta Rhymes got this.

So where do you rank Andre 3000??

Buss a buss! i never considered rakim the goat of anything but then again my exposure to Busta rhymes was greater than that of rakim growing up.i was a leaders of the new school fan too so.

Man, I love Rakim....lyrically, Rakim wins...

But if I had to choose between attending a Busta or Rakim show, I'm choosing Busta.

People sleep on Busta. Bruh was talented, lyrical, outrageous AND has major hits.

Hit for hit, I'd probably be pick Busta over Rakim Allah
There is no doubt Busta is the better performer by miles...
Yet hits aren't the end all be all.
The soul of any collection of work is the noncommercial hits aka the b sides of albums. Busta is a great artist but I'll take Rakim all day.

Opinions.....

The soul of Rakim's collection of work don't solely belong to him though. Can't really name many Rakim songs since he split with Eric B, A or B sides....

Busta has been Busta since he was in LotNS.

And one is remembered by the legacy they made and hits they created.

Busta's hits cemented his legacy.

Rakim's (with Eric B) did so as well, but Busta's longevity has to speak for something.

Rakim's career basically peaked in 1992/ with Know the Ledge. He had a good six year run....

Busta had/still has had a lengthier run career wise. Hell, ELE2 released last year and wasn't bad.

Rakim is the most revered MC of all time. Not sure what competes with that…
