Guess What? Busta Rhymes Was Arrested This Morning
Rapper was busted for driving while impaired in New York.

Busta Rhymes' ongoing driving issues continued early Thursday morning (May 3) when police in New York pulled him over just after midnight and arrested him for driving while impaired.

The rapper, whose real name is Trevor Smith, added to his string of driving-related arrests and issues with the New York Police Department when cops flagged him down at 12:48 a.m. Thursday after officers observed his 2006 GMC Yukon Denali driving down the street with what they said were excessively tinted windows.

According to NYPD spokesperson Detective John Sweeney, when officers approached Rhymes' car, he was found to have a "strong odor of alcohol on his breath" and when they asked him to present his paperwork, "he dropped his wallet to the ground" while showing it to the officers.

Police administered a field sobriety test and Sweeney said Rhymes blew a .147, which is above the .08 legal limit in New York. The officers arrested Rhymes for the misdemeanor crime of driving while impaired. At press time, Rhymes was still in central booking awaiting an appearance in front of a judge later in the day Thursday.

Rhymes has had a string of run-ins with the NYPD over the past year, including arrests for driving with a suspended license, talking on his cell phone while driving as well as a weapons charges and an assault charge (see "Lawyer Claims Busta Rhymes Arrest Is 'Payback' ").

Rhymes' lawyer had no comment on Thursday's arrest.
 
A 0.147 ain't shit. He should have at least doubled that. But that dude is definitely going to do some time. All he had to do was snitch. If you're not going to snitch, then at least stop getting arrested. (Ps, I'm thinking about copping one of those personal breathalizers just to top my high score when I'm drinking)

Man if that ain't profiling, I don't know what the hell is :smh:

I know they have a law against tinting in NY (just like here in TX) but they only seem to pull over brothas over this although other races of people tint their windows too

One Question: How could cops possibly tell if it was a "brotha" driving in a car with 5 percents? :confused: They prob know Busta license plate number. This shit is one of two things or possibly both: dude is just a fuckin dummy or the cops are hounding him for that murder. Dude needs to just say who did it if he stood right there and watched. izzy family is hurtin behind this. Nigga got the nerve to put r.i.p and say one love at the end of his video :smh: :smh: That shit baffles my mind. :confused: :smh: :eek:

Please believe they can still tell who's driving by the kind of car they're driving (eg. Escalade or Denali)
People of other races get tint done on other types of cars
Plus, up in NYC they keep track of rappers with a special police force.

I still don't understand why tinted windows are illegal in the first place :confused:

Why do cops need to see who's driving a car if they're otherwise abiding by the law?

I heard that Hip-Hop Police task force they have in NYC has the license plate numbers of high profile rap artists, shit is crazy. But at the end of the day Busta is bringing this on himself with his refusal to cooperate.

its illegal "supposedly" because it cuts down on visibility when you are driving especially at night. limo tints aka 5% are dark as hell. cops are finding these rappers by their license plate numbers not the car they drive.
 
O.K. Busta should have helped out with the case but if I’m not wrong there was an entourage of people around…There were several people that could have identified the killer…If this was a white rock star, country singer or actor would they be doing this? :confused:

On another note Busta is disappointing me…I considered him a cool rapper, none of that kill a nigga bullshit and things of that nature just some good fun rap with a good beat…I don’t know what his case is now
