Chris Manning is an internationally acclaimed expert on the use of patterns in the stock market. Technology Trading Magazine named his seminar the "Number One Trading Seminar in 2000". Over the course of three days Chris demonstrates knowledge gained over years of modelling, testing and implementing different strategies. Many different approaches are covered and a plethora of sources are combined to concisely give the attendee the knowledge they need in each area - each page of the manuals provided is claimed to represent the sum of considerable reading and consolidation.

As is evident from the wealth of information presented, these seminars are not for the faint hearted. It is possible to attend any of the days in isolation and if you so require, buy the manuals for the other days. If you decide before the lunch break that the seminar is not for you, a refund is available upon handing in your manual - but there were very few empty seats throughout the course. It is also possible to retake a day you have already attended at a reduced rate, something which ought to be of interest to those who heed Chris' advice - choose a system, then test it to verify your understanding. Indeed, there were traders there doing exactly this, having 'paper traded' for several months and now coming back to consolidate and verify their knowledge.

The first day of the course starts with the base from which you must build - determining your financial position, how much you should invest and in what types of plays. Essential for the beginner and a worthwhile check for the initiated - do you have enough security or conversely, are you playing it too safe?

From here, the course moves on to establish other essentials - charting software (and the PC specification you'll need to run it) and choosing a broker. The pros and cons of different software is revealed, along with services you will need from any prospective broker (and questions you should be asking them). By the end of the first day, you will already know what to look for in a company (and screening sites to help you find them) as well as starting to learn charting as a means to knowing when to buy and sell. There is probably something here for more advanced traders - unknown titbits of information on sources, software developments, broker news. Perhaps a useful refresher or introduction to the rest of the course. For the beginner, this is great - although the absolute beginner may find the preponderance of new terms overwhelming, so some experience may be desirable.

The second and third days build considerably on this introduction - more indicators are added to the equation, more patterns are revealed and combinations of all of these are deftly pointed out in example charts, using the recommended software. All the while, the audience are prompted for responses to what they see, with opportunities to point out patterns and indicators they have spotted. Questions were taken during the presentation, but often kept to a minimum to keep up the pace of the course, which by the second day was picking up considerably. Chris also took questions during breaks, but these were probably better fielded to two aides present at the course, who were more freely available.

The course culminated with live demonstrations, using the software previously demonstrated to make real time evaluations of both UK and US shares, as chosen by the audience. Chris revealed his current 'watch list' - not tips, but shares that he was monitoring at the time. The methods used by several success stories were also revealed.

In all, the course was very rewarding. As someone who already had some idea of fundamentals, but little idea about charting techniques, this should take my dealing to a new level. Although I would class myself more of an investor than a trader, this course has taught me tools for tackling what is a great dilemma for anyone dealing shares - when to buy and sell. Even if I do not trade so frequently, I feel reassured that I will make better decisions about when to get in to and out of stocks. Indeed, many of the techniques can be applied across varying investment vehicles (options are also covered) and across timescales - the course reveals tips for day traders as well as those holding shares for longer terms.

If there is one niggle about this course, it would be the predominantly US slant. However, as many of the resources will eventually make it to the UK and narrow the many dis2220crepancies that act against the favour of UK traders, anyone who has attended this course will have a head start. They will already know the services they should demand of their brokers. They will also know about the software and sites available to evaluate both fundamentals and technicals and what to look for in each. For those interested in US investing, this course will be an invaluable source of information to get you started, or improve your current methods. Those in share clubs would do well to send a delegate, the two of us who attended the seminar are keen to bring the rest of our group up to speed!

Money isn't the answer to all problems, but those of us who have experienced financial stress understand that it influences nearly every area of our lives. Sometimes it's a health goal, or a spiritual goal. It's different for all of us. Look at your goals and put a star by the two that will make the others easier to achieve. One or two goals likely set the others in motion. These are the two will focus on first! Place two stars by the single goal that makes all the others easier to achieve.

Spend time envisioning achieving your push goal. What does it feel like? What does it look like? By focusing your mind on the outcome it becomes a priority in your sub-conscious and not just in your conscious mind. You will become more alert to the possibilities around you related to that goal. You'll be shocked at how often your subconscious will begin to spot opportunities for you once you've let it know what is important to you. Write out all the details of what it is like when you achieve this goal. Be specific. Dream big. Make it so exciting that you can't help but put the effort in to achieving this push goal. You want to make the future so alluring that to not take the steps to realizing it would feel crazy.

Now you're going to brainstorm everything it takes to achieve this goal, all the tiny steps and all the big things you must do to get from where you are now to where you are going to be. Be honest. Be thorough. Be assured that you can and will accomplish this goal faster than you ever imagined. Don't get discouraged by the list of things you're going to need to do, this is what will become your plan of attack. Get the ideas out of your brain and onto paper. What's it going to take to start that business or pay off that debt? What do you need to know to be able to do that? What is between where you are now and where you are going to be? Brainstorm and write everything that comes to mind. Then think again about how good it's going to feel to reach this goal! Begin to feel as if you already have. Know that it is not only possible it's inevitable. You have committed to reaching your goals and living an amazing and successful life!

About the Actor

Fabio Andrico has been a certified yoga instructor for over 30 years. DVD 1: Basic Training
Here are the basics of Bagua seen through the lens of the Cheng style. Though all styles are, ultimately, Bagua each branch has its special skills and requirements. In this DVD Sun himself shows basic hand positions, leg positions, locomotion and each, in the final section basics of the Bagua sword. The basics are, of course, essential but the bonus here is to listen to those little details informed by a lifetime of Bagua experience. These are the questions that you would ask an instructor over and over for exactness and structure. Of particular interest is the Cheng style of movement with a gliding steps and, in some instances, a very low to the ground leg position.

DVD 2: Eight Trigram Mother Palm and Swimming Body Eight Trigram Palm Series
The Eight Mother Palms constitute the core exercise of the Bagua system. Here is a well done presentation of the Cheng style version of the art with the core palms up which future skills will be built. The first full series is the Cheng Mother Palms which, in all styles of Bagua, is the foundational exercise to create the other, more complex variations. Mr. Sun also shows a complete version of the Swimming Body Eight Turning Palms. The instruction is good and clear for this crucial information about the Cheng style Bagua Zhang.

DVD 3: 24 Moves (64 Palms)
A medium sized linking set of great charm and skill mostly concentrating on body changes. In his introductory remarks Mr. Sun is very determine to make everyone understand that this is 24 moves with 64 palms but is not linear as in Xingyiquan type form and is therefore one of the last of the completely tradition pure bagua forms of the Cheng school. As far as size of form one of the most attractive of the Bagua sets with plenty of challenges. Swimming Body is a particular emphasis in the Cheng school and this is one of the best examples, move for move, that you could see.

DVD 4: Eight Trigram Turning Palms
The Eight Turning Palms set is also called the Eight Old Palms. Here is a very short and easily learned form based on the eight mother positions where you essentially walk a circle with holding each of the primary positions for Cheng style Bagua. Demonstrated by Li Chun Ling, one of Sun's top student, she gives very clear and straight forward explanation for each position and movement. We strongly suggest that people who might be serious about Bagua pick up a set like this or the Old Palms of Kang Ge Wu. It adds a real foundation to the rest of the palms you will learn later.

DVD 5: Eight Trigram Broadsword
A really good presentation. With the help of his able assistant, Li ChunLing, Mr. Sun demonstrates postures and movements form the Saber which show not only its use but the requirements of good performance. He even goes on to show taboos with the weapon. For instance he forbids the normal body wrapping skills of the saber during Bagua performance. The set itself is well constructed, functional yet beautiful with constant turning and a real attempt to live up to the title of the style "Swimming Body." Definitely not for beginners.

DVD 6: Eight Trigram Sword
Sun, aided by his student assistant, teaches the Straight Sword of the Cheng branch. As one might expect a strong performance, a lot of confidence and a definite style. Ms. Li ChunLing shows the details while Sun gives some very interesting background on his sword and the play of the sword in Bagua generally. He is a strong advocate of "walking the Sword" and stopping only rarely in the practice. This sword, as in the case of the Bagua Saber, is longer than most and a little more difficult to wield. A very nice set with excellent construction. As Sun says, and we agree, very few sword rolls as they have little use in martial sword play.

DVD 7: Eight Trigram Double Spear
The two-headed spear can sometimes be the butt (pun intended) of crude martial jokes such as knowing which end is up, etc. In truth it is one of those weapons that makes you wonder why it was invented in the first place. This is, of course like any weapon, unless you see someone who actually know what he is doing. Sun Zhi Jun makes this fairly obscure weapon considerably more acceptable through his common sense approach and demonstration of its special characteristics in usage. When you think about it the two-headed spear is actually one of those perfect weapons for Bagua which include the Judge's Needle and the Elk Horn knives. All of these weapons can easily be employed with Bagua's special skills such as reverse rolling and around the back energy. This is a good set, one of the better two-headed spear forms we've see, with a distinctly Bagua flavor and set of movements.

DVD 8: Eight Trigram Double Masakari
A nice performed set by assistant instructor Li ChunLing with a continually moving set of Sun Moon Blades. Then Mr. Sun shows up to gives us background not only on the weapons but their practice in the art of Bagua. There is a lot of instruction on the different ways to practice, safety tips on not cutting yourself, and a little historical review of the weapon and its creator, Mr. Dong Hai Chuan. Breakdowns are clear and well organized. One of the most compact and complete presentations for this weapon that we have seen. Instruction and advice from a professional.

Now it may sound like I’m defending men here, but I’m not.

These women simply failed to understand what will trigger a man to care, to love, to be faithful, to be loyal and to feel attraction towards them.

As a result, these women get PAIN, they get humiliation, they get low self esteem, confusion and a sense of abandonment.

By the way, this may have already happened to you. (I’m sorry to hear it if it has already happened to you.) And if it hasn’t, guess what? You are not immune unless you read through what I have to tell you…

I want to warn you of this cycle of pain, and help you move away from it.

You see, this cycle of pain happens again and again to women who are beautiful, and women who are average looking, women who are very well educated and intelligent, and women who are less educated.

In fact, the only way to immunize yourself against this, is through having the deep understanding of how a man thinks, feels and behaves. You must understand how the male brain works, what makes him tick and what makes him irritated, what makes him feel desire and what makes him run away.

When you gain this critical understanding, then you will gain the power to influence a man’s thinking, his feelings and decisions.

Remember, knowledge is power. In-depth knowledge in men, means having tremendous power with men. Plus, any man would be over the moon to find a woman who actually “understands” him, as opposed to the hordes of women whom have not the first clue about men.

Have you ever done something that was seemingly harmless, and then suddenly he has a knee-jerk reaction as if you’d just destroyed everything you ever had with this man?

I know I certainly have in the past, and it feels horrible inside. (You don’t need to feel guilty about it.)

And worst of all, I just couldn’t figure out why it happened, and I’m sure you can relate to me here. Perhaps you’ve done something that made a man have a “bad” reaction… For example:

You’ve tried to be “honest with him” by telling him how you feel… (and suddenly he “disappears”?)

You’ve avoided talking to him about big issues like moving in together or marriage…(because you learnt not to tread on dangerous grounds…)

You’ve “tried” to build up your self esteem… (because you don’t feel confident in front of your man or men in general)

You’ve tried to “play it cool” with a man, (and it has… backfired?)

You’ve told him that you are here for him if he wants to open up about any problems.

You’ve tried to solve his emotional problems for him… (This is a very dangerous one indeed!)

You’ve tried to reassure a man by telling him you guys will work it out.

Perhaps you’ve even tried to cut off sex with him.

Look, here’s the cold truth… men react in those situations, not because he hates you or dislikes what he has with you, it’s because men have multiple inherent fears when it comes to women, dating & relationships.

And trust me, these inherent fears are different to your own fears as a woman. So it would be very difficult for you to relate to them, and for most women, they never even start to understand a man’s deepest fears.

You see, men and women are hardwired completely differently. It’s not a rumor, it’s not a myth, it’s a scientifically proven FACT.

When Dr. John Gray wrote his book, “Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus”, he’s really trying to point out the huge hardwired differences between men and women.

It’s literally like chalk and cheese.
