Brothas of BGOL Allow me to Vent on This Fathers Day

Dude, know ur role. Your kids will understand and appreciate what you were to them when they hit the real world. Mother's embrace and love their kids no matter what. That's who they are and that's what they do. They will always be more outwardly showered with more affection. Dad's have to shape and push their kids to prepare them for the hard truth's in the world. We have to even take on the role of the bad guy sometimes. We make unpopular decisions and at times have to let our kids struggle through some of their issues to teach them how to figure things out for themselves. Doesn't mean we don't what to rush to save them or prevent them from going through things just like their moms. Our job is different, we know winter is coming and it's our job to prepare them for it. Someday when they are grown, your child will come to you and have a conversation with you that will validate the sacrifices you made for them. Don't sweat that small stuff man. Their success and happiness will trump all those cheesy trinkets.

Many are missing the point, it’s not about “Recognition”.

If a child in that class makes something for Mother’s Day, even they may question why they didn’t make anything for Father’s Day.

It’s an official “Day”, so why was nothing made?

Roses die and she used less crayons for mothers day, plus when the ground gets wet the wording will disappear... Now for the father day picture way more crayons were used which mean it took more thought and creativity for that picture, its on paper so you can carry it around and post it up anywhere you want, pieces of paper last for a longtime when stored right..advantage daddy lol
You must be really hurt to come up with all that superfluous bullsit.

so I have a five year old who is in pre-k I take him to school every day of the week and pick him up on most afternoons so Mother’s Day the class makes these cheesy gifts for the kids to bring home to Mom... so today is Father’s Day where is my cheesy gift?

Do I say something to the teacher and the daycare owner tomorrow when I drop him off or do I let that shit go?

Not going to lie I’m kind of hurt and upset over not getting that cheesy gift

Happy Father's Day with your whiny ass!

I didn't get shit either. Not even left alone!

Same here, got cards from both my 6 & 8 yo,a little pillow, a coupon book to make them do things around my house, and a picture with things about me on it. The schools here are have the kids make fathers day gifts.

^^^^^This. Teach him to make cards for others and maybe he will make one for you. BTW I got a huge home made card from my 7 year old. Way bigger than the one he made in pre-school when he was 4.

Everybody knows that Father's Day isnt that big of a deal because most COMPANIES CAN'T MAKE A BUNCH OF MONEY ON PERISHABLES (i.e., flowers, candy, etc.). It is what it is.

*FIXED*
Be that as it may, respect to all of the dads holding it down who still have their children in their lives.
Props.

If your kids acting like they too old to show some love on father's day wake up early and turn them breakers off on father's day before anybody gets up then go back to bed. I bet they remember why they love daddy then.
I just turn the WiFi off when they make me mad
