Brooklyn school backed by Jay-Z said students could graduate debt-free. Now they're buried in it

Jay is a businessman first and foremost than a Brooklynite. Bro has blood on his hands for the gentrification that happened in Downtown Brooklyn. Barclays Center jumpstarted it all and now Downtown BK is filled with skyscrapers with more on deck to be built.

I'm all for revitalization and Manhattanization but not when people get displaced, original residents can't afford to move back in and the area lost its culture.

RIch black celebrities exploiting our youth is no different from a white dude doing it. There are no saviors nor am I looking for any for my community. I've helped plenty of young black kids and will continue to do so. Black capitalism isn't the answer to helping our community. I've got a plan that I've been working on for a bit on how to help black people in our neighborhoods, but in order to do it it would take an excessive amount of money, possibly a lottery win, and I haven't won the lottery yet

I'm not going to get into the details of it, but it has to do with the community taking care of itself and deeply impacting the Arabs and Asians who currently sell us stuff in our community.

I'm not a fan of anyone manipulating poor people, especially when it's poor black people.

This is what I'm talking about. This is a good example. Yes black celebrities should be giving back but we should know by now that shit ain't happening. The community needs to collectively invest in itself.

Thank you. I was telling a friend of mine I think the reason my idea will be successful is because I don't care if it makes any money at all, and their plan is for them to make money in some way.

I look at the entire plan as tithing. If I were to win the lottery, I can live off a couple million dollars for the rest of my life, this includes paying off my house buying another house buying a car and taking care of myself. The rest of the money can go to building a plan that helps black people, including HBCUs.

My idea has the plan being micromanaged so that we don't have people who are able to manipulate and steal money for themselves, which happens pretty often in donation situations. I ain't playing that skimming off the top bullshit. I plan on funding my projects by throwing stuff, not money at it. And the less amount of money, the fewer opportunities there are for people to steal money in theory.
