Derrick Faulcon opened up a donut franchise, Cloudy donut, after spending 11 years in prison. All three of his shops are in predominately white neighborhoods between Baltimore and New York City. Sad to see what happened to Brooklyn. I left in 2001. I used to always be downtown. When they were building Barclays, my son visited me from California. I took him to Brooklyn and it was fucked up. They had shut down all the regular stores.
Before that I took a shorty from DC up on a humble to go to Flatbush. I couldn't believe all the white people I saw while driving up Eastern Parkway; Franklin Avenue etc. Walking dogs and jogging.
Crazy thing is, I've seen the exact same thing happen here in DC over the past 20 years.
