Bronx man, 74, pushed down flight of stairs, kicked in robbery attempt caught on video

CLAREMONT, Bronx – Police are looking for a man caught on video pushing a 74-year-old man down a stairwell and trying to rob him in the Bronx.

The attempted robbery happened about noon Thursday inside an apartment building near Crotona Avenue and Claremont Parkway, the NYPD said.

The culprit was seen on video walking up a flight of stairs with the victim walking behind him. The attacker then turns and pushes the victim down the stairs. The victim lands on his back and the culprit searches him, trying to remove his property. After a few seconds, the attacker gives up and runs away with nothing, according to police.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from a hospital, police said.

The attacker is described as about 6 feet 3 inches tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, black shorts, black sneakers and dark-colored baseball cap.
