If the Warriors want to continue marching toward a title, they will have to do it without Stephen Curry for a little while. The NBA's reigning MVP suffered a Grade 1 MCL sprain in Golden's State's Game 4 victory on Sunday, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. The Warriors say Curry will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

The Warriors sent Curry in for an MRI Monday that revealed no additional damage, Wojnarowski reported. If Curry misses two weeks, that means he'll sit out for the remainder of the Warriors' first-round series against the Rockets and the first 2-3 games of their second-round series against the Clippers or Blazers.

Nevertheless, the news is a mild relief to Warriors fans that feared the worst after Curry slipped and fell to the floor awkwardly while defending a Trevor Ariza pull-up jumper at the end of the first half.

Curry initially warmed up at halftime, but did not play in the second half. The Warriors went on to win 121-94 to gain a 3-1 series lead. Golden State now must close out Houston without their star point guard as they await the winner of the Clippers-Trail Blazers series.

This was Curry's first game back after twisting his right ankle in Game 1 of this series. Curry did not play in Game 2 or Game 3, with Houston claiming victory in the latter game on their home floor. Curry was not effective in his 19 minutes of play, finishing with six points and five turnovers on 2-of-9 shooting from the floor. He has a long history of ankle problems, so the Warriors were cautious before letting him return to the game.

Without Curry, Shaun Livingston will continue to start at point guard. Livingston has played well in Curry's absence, but the loss of Curry saps the Warriors of their most powerful offensive weapon and fundamentally changes the geometry of the floor. It also forces worse players to step in to fill Livingston's role, which weakens the bench.

They said grade 1 knee sprain.. Will be out 2 weeks

Looks like the league bout to cry in the car cause he coming back

He won't be healthy for the playoffs man.. his ankle was already giving him a problem now it's a knee. This is gonna be a real test for this squad... if they manage to still win it all with Curry being injured for a good portion of the playoffs, >>>>>>>>>>>

gotta be next man up for the warriors. they did say reevaluated so steph and the warriors got a long way to go still. the clippers should be licking they lips at this development

They going to give him them hyperbaric treatments which will heal that injury a lot faster.. Good thing it don't require surgery..

He will be back for sure but at 80% IMO..

GS can beat the clips any day and in a 7 game series without Steph.. Them niggas lost to the same rockets team GS is playing now lmaoo

I think the clips/Portland series going 7 games so that will give Curry the 2 weeks plus

I never had a sprain in my knee but I strained it real bad and it took me three weeks to play with a brace... I was good on offense took mostly jumpers, but on defense and rebounding I suffered mostly because my inability to cut or apply pressure on it...
But its a type of injury that gets better on its own time, perhaps they will inject and zap his knee to speed it up a bit..

I sprained my MCL back in the day...I had to have that shit in a splint for a good 3 weeks and wasn't feeling comfortable until after damn near 2 months and by then my leg was atrophied as a muthafucka

He will be in a hyperbaric chamber

Another thing piviting and cutting is almost impossible, every time I tried if felt like my knee was going to slip out..

He's an athlete so he's getting the best treatment in the world..so yeah.. so he's not going to be hobbled like the people responding in this thread.

The towel boys need their asses beat... one of the games top players getting injured because the floor is wet is fucking stupid.. especially in the playoffs.

Yeah that was unacceptable that the floor was wet or deliberate

Steroid shots and pain killers and it might ruin him if he is rushed back

That's the thing they don't even need to do that just hyperbaric treatments and physical therapy and he will be good.. Remember the MRI revealed no damage just a sprain.

I figured something would happen playin on a bad ankle. Kyrie 2015

The knee injury had nothing to do with the ankle.

Thankfully for him there's no structural damage, but it's gonna be tough for them to get past the Clips if Steph only has one leg.

this is freaking huge...

wonder if the Cavs DO win will the internet call his championship 'tainted' cause Curry aint play?

GSW already proved they can win without Steph....Question was always was it him or a great team..

I chose the later, dude can shoot and has game but he is also on a stacked team that have pieces that fit together.

They will be okay
