White House Threatens Broad Crackdown on Liberal Groups

Top Trump administration officials used Charlie Kirk’s podcast to vow a governmental crackdown on left-wing organizations in the name of the slain conservative activist.

@woodchuck

So its all going according to plan.

And the democrats just gonna let it happen.

They Letting this devil be celebrated as a hero and now his corpse is the foundation for a new white nationalism movement.
Even though they KNOW who did it. We all know what this is leading to.

I can't stand Kirk, but destroying a memorial is too far IMO.

Let those sheep mourn their pie faced double gummed messiah in peace.
No. What in the entire fuck are you talking about my nicca?

Instances of civil rights monuments and memorials being vandalized or defaced are a recurring issue with multiple recent examples. Motives for these acts range from racially motivated hate and theft to political protest.

Memorials to Martin Luther King Jr.
Denver, Colorado (2024): In February 2024, during Black History Month, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in City Park was vandalized. The vandals stole several large bronze pieces, including a 300-pound plaque honoring African-American veterans, a bronze torch, and an angel. The Denver Police Department's Bias-Motivated Crime Unit investigated the case, and two men were later arrested. The monument's original artist, Ed Dwight, helped repair the damage.

Concord, North Carolina (2023): In October 2023, the city's monument honoring Dr. King was defaced with paint. The city's mayor and former mayor expressed sadness and disappointment over the vandalism.

Atlanta, Georgia (2024): In February 2024, a woman was arrested for attempting to set fire to Dr. King's childhood home. She poured gasoline on the porch and bushes before being stopped by two off-duty police officers.

Memorials to Emmett Till
Mississippi (2017–2018): Historical markers memorializing the 1955 lynching of 14-year-old Emmett Till have been repeatedly vandalized. In 2017, a memorial sign at the site of the Bryant Grocery store was scraped and later peeled off. A different sign near the Tallahatchie River, where Till's body was recovered, was repeatedly vandalized with bullet holes. After being replaced in 2018, the new sign was shot up just 35 days later.
Mississippi (2019): An organizer for the Emmett Till Interpretive Center reported that they had to start using steel plaques for markers due to the repeated acts of vandalism.

Jackie Robinson Statue
Wichita, Kansas (2024): A bronze statue of baseball icon Jackie Robinson was stolen from McAdams Park in January 2024. The statue was cut off at the ankles and later found burning in a trash can. Police arrested a suspect and charged them with felony theft and criminal damage to property.

George Floyd protests (2020): Following the murder of George Floyd, numerous monuments and memorials related to racial injustice or figures associated with racism were vandalized, toppled, or officially removed. While most targeted Confederate monuments, some statues of civil rights figures or abolitionists, such as Frederick Douglass in Rochester, New York, were also vandalized.

Arthur Ashe Monument, Richmond, Virginia (2020): During the 2020 protests, a statue of tennis legend Arthur Ashe was vandalized with the words "White Lives Matter." The phrase was quickly painted over with "BLM" (Black Lives Matter).
