I wanna see us doing better before stepping in the ring but I like the brothas energy. I know the vast majority dont spend our days and nights obsessing about this stuff but if you are going to do activist work, like going into these spaces to be a counter-weight to the bullshit, we need to do activist prep. Dont go in there firing blanks.

He actually did a pretty good job answering her questions considering he likely didn't prepare to be interviewed. Being an activist doesn't entail being good at giving interviews. If activism were narrowed to only those who cut a good interview, there'd be very few activists out there.

He cited conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September, as his inspiration to "get off the sidelines." McCarron, who is running as a Republican, also stressed his 2016 endorsement of President Donald Trump.
"Today, Alabama's conservative and cultural values are under attack from every direction. That's why Charlie Kirk's assassination affected so many of us so deeply," McCarron said in the video.
