Brazil are 3-0 under Mano Menezes, and have not conceded a goal

Argentina are 2-1 under Sergio Baptista; they beat World Champions Spain 4-1, but had an embarassing 1-0 loss to Japan.

should be a classic..cant wait.... Argentina has a lot of talent but they dont play exceptionally well together.

i really want to see if Ronaldinho can work some old magic in the middle..

I have a sneaking suspicion Brasil might win, but I'm hoping Argentina pull it off.

Still wish this guy would play with Argentina again:

I also wonder if Javier Pastore is going to play, because he's being touted as the next great Argentinian. They're not even comparing him to Maradona, instead they're using Zidane as a comparison.

I think that this is the game that is gonna be important for the evaluation of most of the players on this Brazilian team. If they beat Argentina, they keep their positions. If they lose, the shuffling resumes.. The ones on the hot seat will be David Ruiz (who has been criticised in the last game needing Thiago Silva to mo up his mistakes), Lucas and Ramires. Though I think that Ramires who is already one of the best defensive midfielders in the world is secure in his place. Also, if Andre Santos is not steady, and gets torched by the likes of Tevez, another fullback may be considered. Danny Alves scored important goals in the last 2 international friendly, and has some goodwill in the tank.

Ronaldinho is a stand in for Ganso, and whenever Ganso returns, he is probably gone. Simply put, Mano is trying to groom a team for 2014, rather than field the best Brazilian players right now. At age 30, it is highly unlikely Dinho is in Manu's long range plans... Clearly, Mano is fixated with the Santos frontline of Ganso, Robinho, Neymar and Andre that terrorised Brazil earlier this year, and that is why it is on his team....I would love see what sort of football Dinho, Neymar and Robinho play together... That could be a torture test for that shaky Argentine defense of the likes of Gabriel Heinze and Demichelis...After the way Maicon was destroyed by Bale in 2 consecutive Champion's League games, it is unlikely that he will ever wear the yellow jersey again..because, unfortunately, Mano Menezes was in the stands watching at that first game in person, to see Maicon get utterly reduced.

I think Brazil is steadier in Defense, stronger in defensive midfield, with Ramires brilliantly holding; If Ronaldinho can mesh well with Neymar and Robinho, and drill holes in the Argentine defense, Brazil will win. This will be the first time Messi and Neymar play on the same field, and I think people will see that Neymar is the better player. I think that Brazil will be stronger in central midfield, and I give them an edge...This is a Brazil that can run straight down the pipe or on either flank, and I do not think Argentina will be able to weather the pressure. However, everything will depend on how much Ronaldinho wants to play well..On the other hand, Messi will not dominate the bigger, faster and more skilled Brazilians the way he does Europeans..

Tevez did just fine against Brazilians, why wouldn't Messi? I'm almost certain that Messi has gotten a standing ovation by Brazilians as well. Not to mention scoring a spectacular goal against them in the under 20 World Cup.

Yeah right... The Brazilian under 20 has not been good... Now he will be up against Ramires and Lucas, and I say Messi will be solved... As for Tevez "doing fine against Brazilians", the ranks of people who did well against Brazilians include Egypt, South Africa, the US, North Korea, Ivory Coast, and whoever else they played. However, note that those Brazilians were Dunga's Brazilians..

Remember, Messi is coming to the Argentine National team without Iniesta and Xavi...

I'm talking about Tevez doing fine when he was in the Brazilian league, which is what I thought you were referring to?(Brazilian league that is). Yeah, it's possible he won't play well against Brazil, but don't act like he hasn't done well against them before.

Brazilians are better than Argentinians.

Let's get this show on the road, menezas seem to have his head on the shoulders, and using a lot of common sense, a brazilian team without ronaldhino is not the real thing, let start rebuilding this monster.

Ronaldinho is not a part of Brazil's current or future plans. He is a fill-in for Paulo Henrique Ganso. Ganso is out until the end of February and that is why Ronaldinho is in that line up. Manu was coach of Corithians early this year where he was an eyewitness to the terror wreaked on the Paulista by the frontline of Henrique "Ganso" Chagas de Lima, Robson "Robinho dos" Santos, Neymar da Siva Santos, and Andre Felipe Ribeiro...He is determined to make that frontline the core of his future Brazilian team.

As you know, Manu is in charge of the Olympic team as well, and many of these same players will be on that team. Ganso, Neymar, Andre and Pato will all play; Robinho and Ramires might be his over 23 players... He is grooming a team for 2014 in Brazil and unless this young team show complete lack of ability, he is gonna stay with it...
