My @$$ gonna be sittin' comfy in front of the TV tonight cuz both Showtime and HBO are goin' all out tonight with some real battles!

First up:

(Eastern Time)
9:00pm - Showtime (2:30)
Showtime Championship Boxing: Israel Vazquez vs. Rafael Marquez for Vazquez' WBC super bantamweight title. Co-feature: Vic Darchinyan vs. Jose Burgos for Darchinyan's IBF flyweight title (live broadcast).

'Fight of the Year' feeling

Israel-Vasquez5.jpg

In a highly anticipated battle of Mexico City-born world champions, Israel Vazquez will defend his World Boxing Council (WBC) and The Ring Magazine super bantamweight titles against International Boxing Federation (IBF)/International Boxing Organization (IBO) Bantamweight Champion Rafael Marquez in the main event on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING (9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast) Saturday, March 3, at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

So, who is going to triumph in what many expect to be the "Fight of the Year? Can a little man (Marquez) defeat a naturally bigger boxer, or does the physically larger man (Vazquez) have the advantage? Does size matter?

Of the 27 boxing reporters who participated in a SHOWTIME prediction poll, 16 picked Vazquez, 11 chose Marquez… ALL predict an explosive and dynamic fight.

(Eastern Time)
9:45pm - HBO (2:30)
World Championship Boxing: Miguel Cotto vs. Oktay Urkal for Cotto's WBA welterweight title. Co-feature: Edison Miranda vs. Allan Green, super middleweights (live broadcast)

I'll save my money until de la hoya and mayweather jr

its on HBO

hell u can find a free online stream if necessary

Dela Hoya by KO cinco de mayo.
Cant wait to see little Floyd sleep the only time he cant run his mouth.

They say Urkal is no pushover for Cotto and I've
never been a Cotto fan and wished Chop Chop
had put him to sleep when he had him hurt.
Would like to see PBF Cotto or Mosley Cotto

I been a Rafael Marquez fan since he beat Mark
"Too Sharp" Johnson. (1 of my favorites.)

I want to see Allan Green against some real comp.
He talks a lot of shit after his lil 19 second ko vs.
Jaidon Cardrington.(or whatever) The one where
his crew came in the ring after he got knocked out
still trying to represent. Total chaos paramedics
and oxygen masks police vs. niggas.

I love to see big mouth fighters get punished.
Roy Jones Zab Judah etc.

That Green/Miranda fight should be pretty good - After seeing Green almost kill a man in the ring I can't see picking against that dude.

I'm waiting for the Floyd Mayweather - De la Hoya fight too.
I don't think it's going to be close at all, De la Hoya hasn't won against a good boxer in years, only sluggers (Gatti & Mayorga). They just gave him the fight against Sturm.

+ De la Hoya could'nt put Sugar Shane down & Vernon Forest proved Sugar Shane does'nt have a good chin.

Pretty Boy Floyd is younger than Sugar Shane & seems to be quicker & an all around better boxer. De la Hoya should've at least had a warm up fight first...

No man, De La Chicken will be kayoed by Mayweather. Floyd is too fast, too crafty and too good defensively to lose to Oscar... Oscar has been beaten 5 times and this will be no 6!!!!

But that Green/Miranda fight is the capper...Allan Green been talkin trash for a minute...This may be a fight where he may get a good challenge...

Yeah I can't wait for Cotto vs. Judah boxing looks good this year

Green's waiting out the storm... He's landing some quality punches... yet Miranda's a bully chasing him around that ring... We'll see by the 7th..

Allan Green fought like a lil bitch

I lost all kinds of respect for dude

he has the talent to beat that wild bum but he was too fuckin scared

boxers are always supposed to beat punchers....

but this niggah was a fuckin sissy

Green did look scared, while Miranda looked like he wanted to kill the guy.
WTF is you looking to the ref for?...Green keep looking for the ref to stop Miranda's fouls. You have to stop that yourself...

Bottom line it looked like Miranda was out to hurt somebody and Green was out be a sport and box like a 'gentleman'.Fool!!!...you in a fight!!!

And Cotto will kill Judah...
Judah,no heart,no chin and is a punk to boot....

I was impressed by Alan Green but then once I saw
his abilities I was dissapointed in him. He coulda
won that fight easy. If he wasnt a coward. And why
the fuck did he keep looking down at his shoe. He
was totaly distracted. A win could have put him in
good position. I think losing the weight took a lot
but he never looked spent cause he was cautious
and never gave %100. He got a c+

Rafael Marquez did his thing and I wasnt impressed
with Cottos win.

The open scoring system is good. It takes the faggots
out of the equation. With many professional sports the
ref can dictate the outcome. You were never able to
do that with boxing but the judges used to fuck it up.

All you Floyd fans put your money in the pot PLEASE.
Shitty Boy is not ready and his fans are banking on
him being able to hit and run and not get caught. lol
Dont compare Floyd to Shane cause Shane has Heart
and we've seen his chin. Floyds chin is still in question.
Imagine routing for a boxer hoping he doesnt get
caught clean sooner or later. That in itself is some
PUNK ASS SHIT

Imagine Floyd having the power to Hurt De la Hoya
in anyway besides a low blow. Have u seen ODLH
hurt besides by Bernard Hopkins? (Ever?)
Where do you all bet online? Please let me know.

On another note did anyone notice Diego Corales has
jumped up to 147 to face Joshua Clottey April 7th.
Corrales was my man until everyone figured out he
keeps his right hand low and he foolishly slugged
and got KOed by JLC.
Imagine
Chico vs Paul Williams
Chico vs Antonio Margarito

Why did Green keep looking down every time the ref would break their clinch ? He would have beaten Miranda if he would have established his jab. Miranda was also set up for the uppercut always coming in with his head down and throwing those looping shots. Green was scared. Cotto's body shots are thunderous !

Yeah Allan Green clammed up on this fight...Remember last year he wanted to fight Lacy so bad...after this performance, I don't know if he'd get a decent fight with anyone...

And to those who say that De La Hoya will beat Mayweather, they got another thing coming...It's looking like dejavu all over again...Remember what happened to Tito?

I think Green lost the fight in the first round after Miranda brought it to him with that right hand. Green ate it, but decided the resik was not worth the reward. Miranda reminds me of John "The Beast" Mugabi with netter boxing skills.

I will pick Miranda over Pavlik and based on how and if he wins, maybe a favorite over Jermain Taylor.

peace

CHICO gonna get killed at 147. his chin just not up 2 par man. i saw clottey against margarito and he was throwing bombs until he fucked his hand up he would have won. i always liked chico got crazy heart but he need 2 just retire his speech already sound fucked at times.

Cotto never been in with someone who hits hard as Zab, when he fought Corley and Torres u see he can have problems with people who can punch so it aint like he got a steel chin either. Cotto aint no Baldomir he can be rocked 2. If Zab has a good fight plan and sticks 2 it and stays disciplined not tryin 2 showboat in MSG i think he got damn good chance 2 win. I got the fight even could go either way 2 me.
