Kovalev hates body shots, so he just wanted to keep him off of him. He was shook of a blown up middleweight. The jab is the set up punch, but he never followed with that right hand because he was scared of the counter
Canelo has to be considered the best p4p. He’s fought everyone, itterspective of boxing ‘politics’ and his only loss was to Mayweather.

Buddy McGirt screwed Kovalev with the strategy of doing nothing but jab and point with Canelo. He looked much slower than usual. It would’ve been a better fight if he had stuck with his old fighting style.
Canelo is a beast. He tires people out because he always comes forward never backs up. Being on the defensive can take a lot of you if you don’t have the stamina and a defensive strategy. Canelo finished his ass off with those punches to the left and right on the temple. Fucked up his equilibrium and he was done.
GGG don’t want anymore of Canelo. He just needs to leave it alone. I would like for Canelo to stay at this weight being as though when he hydrates, he hydrates to 175 always. I can tell this is pretty much his walk around weight and he can hold it well. I want him to fight that other Russian with the other two belts.

That was painful to watch and I liked both fighters. It's sad to see the old lion led out to slaughter. More power to Canelo but John David Jackson was right, Canelo handpicked Sergey for reason. This is 6 tough fights for him in the last 3 years. Hopefully he hangs up the gloves.
I don't think he's taking either of the 2 top russian 175ers in Beterbiev or Bivol. If he fights Callum Smith at 168 that could be interesting

They waited GGG out. GGG IS OLD NOW. He lost his last fight and would have a rough go of it with a number of the top ranked fighters at that weight.
Picking Kovalev was excellent match making by Canelo's team.
The fight was fixed. We knew the fight was fixed when they signed the contracts and they promised Sergey kovalev two additional fights with dazn if he lost. Never in the history of boxing have you seen a power puncher not throw his power shot especially against a much smaller man. Also you have never seen a big fighter not just walk down his smaller opponent and put his body weight all over him to wear them down. To say that he was afraid of canelo's body punching is bulshit when he's face much bigger and Powerful opponents. When was the last time Canelo knocked somebody out? Y'all better recognize this staged shit when you see it. What a joke
Yeah. I have been saying the same thing about GGG being old. It’s sad because now he is getting the prime fights, but 5 years to late. Did people really duck GGG, say 5 years ago? Fighting all those tomato cans had people shook because he was knocking bamas out.

That fight wasn't fixed. Sergey just got old. It's like when people wondered why punchers wouldn't let there hands go against Floyd Mayweather, it's because they were worried about what was coming back. It 's not as hard as what they're throwing but it hurts a lot more when it's coming as a counter to a missed shot when the chin is exposed.
It was good matchmaking by Canelo's people. There's a reason why Roy Jones made his title shot against John Ruiz and not one of the other champions. They wouldn't have made that match 5 years ago when Sergey was krushing people. After they watched Sergey's struggle with Yarde, they knew it was time. The other champions are going to blow Yarde away, he's not going to be around the top of the division for long. The fact that Sergey struggled with him showed that he was ripe for the picking.

Yeah they were ducking him....Canelo was supposed to fight him from way back...waited until he looked vulnerable against Jacobs...GGG always had flaws but they waited until he was a little past it...Canelo would beat GGG up real bad if they fought now
The entire landscape of boxing is so wide open that if there were someone out there with the skills of Tyson, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns,

He was active every round. He had to jab and move constantly because Canelo kept coming forward. You could tell he was tired cuz he began dipping his shoulder to dive in and hold. It's clear he hates body shots and Canelo landed a couple hard ones, add that to age, wear and tear its possible.I agree. Gassed from throwing jabs?? GTFOH...............
Nah, that's just Kovalev. He always been lazy, that's what always pissed me off about him. He had all this talent and just never wanted to put in all the work. He was just used to winning off of natural ability. That's how people like Andre Ward took advantage of him. They knew he doesn't train hard and he doesn't listen worth shit to his trainers. He's basically Tyson without Cus D'amato. Tyson hated the physical training also and skipped it whenever he could, which was often. Kovalev has no one to really hold him accountable and make him do the work. That's why he's pretty much done.
