Imho it's between Roy and Hector. But since the power Roy had was so stunning, it was rare to see him throw sick combos because he could put these dudes out with one well placed shot, and he usually did. Hector's combination punching was incredibly fast though.

I agree but of course with Ali being 220 his hand speed was crazy at that weight.

I sat ringside in Dallas at the Pacquiao-Margarito fight, and Pacquiao's hands are 50x in person than on TV.

When I saw how fast he was throwing I was like...:eek:

Dude was hitting Margarito with 5-6 punches by the time I blinked once.

I didn't include Pac because of the implications of PED use.

I should have put an asterisk next to Roy for that matter too.

Camacho had blazing hand speed at Jr lightweight, he still had very good hand speed at 135 but it wasn't the same. Jones hit Reggie Johnson with an impossibly fast one two. It was so fast that I'm sure Johnson thought he was hit with one punch.

Hector had real hand speed. But like others have said the combination of power and speed is rear and roy had that! I will have to side with Ray. I went to Pacman vs. Mosley ths may and yes he has hand speed. It was very impressive. The combinations he throws are crazy! With that being said I stilldon't think he can beat money may.

Roy still has hand speed,he just loss his reflexes.
How about Pernell whitaker? He was quick.
But to answer the question I'm going to give it to Roy.

It's tough because it's across weight classes.

Looking into the camera, just pure hand speed it came down to Sugar Ray Leonard and Meldrick Taylor.

Pure hand speed and power, where I could see the opponent's head pop or body cave came down to Sugar Ray Robinson and Roy Jones Jr.

This is just my opinion. I am a Sugar Ray Robinson fan but I did forget how nasty Roy was with that hand speed. Good Lord.

Although he was not flashy at all, Howard Davis had some very quick hands that he used mainly for defense
Also, Johnny Bumpus had some of the fastest hands I've ever seen (or not seen)
Haven't paid boxing much attention in the last 15-20 years, so can't speak on the cats today

This is without a doubt Roy Jr. I saw that nigga throw a triple jab that was damn near as fast as one jab. His speed made even a solid fighter in his division look like a tomato can.

Roy all day.

Even though he doesnt throw combos Floyd has some of the quickest hands in the history of the sport.

Andre Dirrell got some quick hands too.

I had to say Roy

That nigga could throw that shit from the hip like it was nothing.:smh:

I used to practice that shit on my Shower curtain

I wonder how Meldrick's career would have been different if he beat Chavez :smh:

Macho Camacho used to be my dude when I was a kid. Used to love his ring entrances, outfits and cockiness more than him as a fighter. Dude used to pitty pat though.

For weight class compared to his contemporaries, Roy. Dude used to hit cats before they thought about throwing a punch.

The fastest hands goes to Cassius Clay aka Muhammad Ali. Ali could hit an opponent so fast by the time the opponent realized he was hit and ready to hit back, Ali was someone else int he ring. He could hit you with combinations while doing the Ali shuffle. He was in a class by himself. All the others are just imitators of the Greatest!

There is actually a way the boxing world measures the hand speed of boxers. In the heavyweights Ali is ranked first. Surprisingly Tyson was ranked #2 among heavyweights.

I'm sure many lessor known boxers ranked up there but every thing else about their skill was banged up.

My vote for this thread goes to Robinson. The cats' first 40 or so fights were not filmed so we can never even know how good this guy was. Before his skills began to erode he was something like 121-1.

Just incredible.
