Bobby Womack and sam Cooke: enter if you want to hear the most tragic example of betrayal ever told.

Linda and Cecil moved to South Afrika I believe where she had a bunch of kids.

They left us with this that was hot in the clubs.

I've heard this song before...but as a proto-UK garage song. And I never knew it was a cover or originally done by Womack & Womack.

Edit: Found it! Thought it was by Morcheeba, but that lead me in the right direction.

I am a 19yr old laid back leo who can also be extremely goofy at times. However I am VERY driven for success.
With a family lineage that includes a virtual whos who of the entertainment business I Brandi Womack was born into greatness. Wasting no time to pursue the familys bread and butter singing.when my entrance into the entertainment world began with a guest appearance on my uncle Bobby Womacks Christmas album "Traditions". And shortly after performing at many legendary hollywood hotspots form The Roxy to The Nitting Factory. Which lead to an extra role in Disney movie Max Kebbles Big Move and an apperance at The Demo Fast Break competition in Las Vegas. It was from there I learned I loved the camera and the spotlight and wanted to be an all around entertainer. Now hopeing to take over the modeling scenes i have considered shooting with SHOW mag to have been a great experience and huge accomplishment. It was a pleasure working with Sean and if i had to i would do it all over again.

Who actually killed Sam Cooke? Was it the thief bitch he was messin' with in the hotel or the receptionist behind the desk? His story is super crazy tho.
It was the receptionist or desk clerk.
Their was a book, " Too young to die", that was published in the late 70s that discuss this in detail.
If you can find the book, it is a really great read.
It's about stars and athletes who passed away at a young age.

Everyone talking about Bobby nobody talking about Sam's wife or his daughter. Like you don't know that's your husbands friend and you don't know that's your mama's husband and your daddy's friend? Mind you all these people supposed to be good "christian' folk cause Sam and Bobby sung in a gospel group together. And yeah this would make one helluva movie not just because of this foolishness but because of all the people associated with Sam like Johnnie Taylor, Lou Rawls, Aretha Franklin talking about when Sam visited Rev. C.L. Franklin how she almost gave it up to him.

Some women want that rough neck and Bobby was that nigga. Sam was the smooth pretty boy and evidently that ain't what she wanted. That said Bobby, while one of my favorite artists, was a piece of shit for what he did and she "belongs to the streets" too. :hmm:

i've heard this story in bits and pieces over the years and i knew that was what bobby was singing about. thanks for detailed break down. bobby was a piece of shit . it still amazes me how many artists we love and the struggles they had and how those struggles formed a lot of their best work. especially those 60s- 80s cats. shit was wild.

You're welcome. It's definitely worth seeing.

Bobby RIP but he suffered something while here on this earth and during that time.

He couldn't get shows,he was announced as "the man who slept with Sam Cooke's wife" and basically his and his brother's careers was dead cause they were a group first.
-he lost two children to deaths
-his younger brother was stabbed to death in california
-he was broke

The only thing he could do was placements on other people's albums, writing, producing songs and that's where he brought himself back and he said this in his music and some of his biggest hits is what helped him...."California Dreaming"-about his brother that was stabbed to death,"Harry Hippie"-About his brother,"Close to you"-about the rejection he was getting but he didn't say Sam's name but he used the excuse of not being commercial enough......

It's in the music,if you listen enough their telling you what it is what it's about.

Johnnie Taylor-Mr.Nobody is somebody
Talking about being a pimp, cause he has a gal that's down for him
