by pleading guilty now- hopefully he'll be out in less than 3 years

Some of those laws are being governed by the network of snitches...Right now you have to be a big fool to even live the life of crime in NYC mainly due to the fact that there is no honor and loyalty in the streets where the rewards isn't close to matching the punishment..
On the flip side all the money is in small operation drug dealers where you are low key and have very few moving parts (no crews or gang affiliates) and only a few clients with money... These kats never get caught..
nothing wrong with the gun law -if the legal system was fair, but it seems to me that only black and brown people ever get hit with real gun charges in NYC
