I know once Dame said he wouldn't let Lyor Cohen short change him, he went to battle with Cohen, and wasn't letting him get over on him, he knew his business. i don't know, i think in hindsight they say all that now. but, i disagree because if they knew it was going down why would Dame be so surprised when it actually happened. I do think at the time, Jay and Dame had become more distant, they weren't everywhere together anymore and Dame looked at cam like this is my dude right now, he rolln with me, he following my lead, and he's making hits. I think Dame looked at it like cam was his old but new homie that was bringing money to him and trying to do things, so Dame wanted to make cam vp to show his appreciation. Either way it goes, it was sort of a dirty move since Jay didn't like cam. Dame was cocky, but you never heard of him ripping off his artist. Most of the time if not all the time he spoke intelligent. Dame wasn't shytn on people below him, he was wanting his fare share from the people above him and like Eewwill perfectly said that led to him being basically blackballed. All the shyt u heard about dirty ngz like puffy, suge, baby, etc....u never heard of that about Dame. You never heard about Dame beating his artist up, not paying royalties, etc.... But, you are right, the powers that be did shut Dame down. The powers being the people who've ran the industry for years didn't want that black man who demanded a large percentage in the industry. Maybe Dame was too cocky in the end, but if he hadn't been so cocky would jay be as rich as he is today? jay could've been another rapper complaining about never being paid for for any of his albums, jay could be stuck in a fkd up contract, etc....
