Bob Arum On The UFC (funny as fuk)

Some of the older heads just can't accept the UFC. Got a friend that sounds just like old dude. Says boxing is the only true fighting sport. Asked him to name one current Heavyweight Champion. He was speechless. Couldn't name a one.

When they are on the ground it does look like a rape scene most of the time.

They showed exceptions but that shit gets old fast.

I would love on of the UFC boys stepping into the boxing ring just once.

Prove if they can really box.

i like boxing as well, but the thing is boxing is not TRUE fighting, reason being that in a real fight if you knock the other guy down you're not going to politely go to a neutral corner and allow him 10 seconds to collect his thoughts & come after you again, you're either gonna soccer kick the fukk outta him or you gonna try to strangle him. in boxing you can only win 3 ways, KO, TKO or decision. with MMA, adding the 4th dimension of submissions gives it an entirely new feel

I like UFC, but it's too centralized like wrestling (Dana White). Control of the market needs to be transferred to the actual talent.

 I've never once looked at MMA ground game and thought of sex... but that's just me.

Well, we've seen what happened when a boxer steps in the octagon to prove if they can really fight.

:yawn2: Yea yea. Boxing just isn't what it used to be. I don't understand why boxing fans can't just accept them both as combat sports. Funny way to flip his words though.

You've never seen a man try to escape from the ground while another man is right on his ass huh? You've never seen that north south position either I guess. And to top that shit off, dude used to advertise Condom Depot on their shorts while in these positions.

The sport is cool but it is wild homo at times. You can be straight and still notice this shit.

As far a James toney goes, captain America didn't want any of that stand up. He just proved that if the are great with your hands, UFC dudes are going to the ground. Shit they were even scared to bang with kimbo. Like Bob Arum said most suck at stand up fighting.

that's good for the talent, but not good for the consumer. this is where a monopoly works in our favor as the viewing public. if you have a central organization calling the shots, then you have a better chance of the best fighting the best. when you have the fighters calling the shots, you get fuckery like the mayweather/pacquiao negotiations (to be fair, pacquiao is just as complicit in this as mayweather) which has been going on damn near 2 years.

THANK YOU! If MMA was like boxing would we ever see fights like Diaz/Penn or Lesnar/Overeem? NOPE! I look at it like the NFL. You can play in other lesser known places but the real talent is in one league. This isn't a made up TV show like wrestling.

MMA is the ultimate fighting sport. The shit is the closest thing to a real fight. I just hate how they had to "dumb down" the ground game for the casual fan. True MMA heads can watch a "boring" ground game and all we are thinking about are what moves/escapes we would be trying to do. I never once watched some ground game and thought of anything gay. I'm thinking..." don't he see he setting him for a choke?"

UFC has me spoiled. Even if I am watching boxing, I can't help but to wonder what would happen if one of the boxers got took to the ground. Shit just seemed so limited the more I got into MMA. The funny thing is us MMA guys have respect for boxing since boxing is part of MMA, but unless two people are going to street fight, MMA is the way you see who the truly better fighter is.

I don't know why anyone would listen to Arum... he is full of shit about everything.

MMA, in general, isn't my cup of tea. I like the strikers and that is why I will never come in MMA thread talking big shit. I don't know much about the sport. I gave it a few tries... but it isn't for me.

I might fuck with it more if they broke up the ground shit more often since a lot of what I've seen doesn't seem to go anywhere, but with the ground game being an important part of the real fight element... I don't know how that is possible. So I'll stay in my lane.

If you don't like it... move on...

Yes, I've seen all of those things, but NEVER thought of them sexually, bruh. It's a matter of perception and perception is in the mind of the beholder. The only people I've ever heard say the same thing about collegiate wrestling were women and homosexuals... or down-low thugs. Now, I am NOT saying YOU are any of the aforementioned. I'm just saying that I don't know any straight fight sports fans who view it that way. Some women (and gay men) say they watch football because they like to watch muscular men in tight pants rough each other up. I see footballers roughing eachother up and, yes, they are wearing tight pants, but I do not perceive those two facts in the same manner that women (and gays) do. Again, NOT calling YOU gay. Just saying, it's a matter of perception, depending on the mind of the beholder. That's all. No diss intended. Just saying.

There's more to fighting than great hands. That's like challenges Usain Bolt to a one legged hooping race and calling him a coward if he chooses to run on two feet, instead. Of course if you only do one thing, you'll be more proficient at that one thing than someone who does many things. Stevie Wonder might be a better pianist than Prince, but Stevie can't play guitar. Bob Arum's argument makes no sense. They're not boxers, they're fighters. And, even on the street, you better bring more than hands to a fight, or else...

MMA is gay. Only niggas I know who like it are gay, or closet homos like their white massa.

Thank You.....so sick of hearing that gay comment. ......

Man with your logic, you could see two dudes fucking, and think is not gay because of perception.

I like how you said only people who think mma is gay are fags and woman, but YOU are not one.

How about this, NO DISRESPECT but fuck you.

I'm a MMA & Boxing fan both sports can co exist....

there is great skill in both sports....

Boxing will never die its been around longer than television....MMA is also a great young sport future is bright....the only thing I don't like about MMA is sometimes it can be a cluster of too many disciplines/styles....

if it wasn't for Traditional Martial Arts I wouldn't be a fan of MMA...

You're an idiot. Nothing you just said made lick of sense. For example:
Man with your logic, you could see two dudes fucking, and think is not gay because of perception.
WORD??? You think not viewing the ground game as gay sex is the same as not actual gay sex as gay? Nigga, you on fire, son. And, yes, I do mean that as in, you're a flaming homosexual, of you believe this moronic shit you're saying.
I like how you said only people who think mma is gay are fags and woman, but YOU are not one.
Again, there's zero logical continuum between your observation and analysis. What does women and gays' perception have to do with mine, jackass? The reason they see it that way is BECAUSE they're female and/or gay. If someone is neither, they're far less likely to see a contact sport as gay male prison rape. Are you not listening to yourself??? :smh:
How about this, NO DISRESPECT but fuck you.
Aww, you wittle fweelings hurt, bruh?

Alot of ignorance in this thread. Im a big fan of both sports. MMA is ascending and boxing has been descending for a long time now.

For those who say the ground game looks gay, if you knew what was going on then maybe you would think otherwise. Those people who know how to fight on the ground, start thinking about the strategy that is taking place. If all you can think about is homo eroticism, then hey...thats more telling on yourself. The north south position rarely happens as it it harder to inflict damage from there. Also, gay or not most real fights end up on the ground. So are you going to feel masculine after some "homo" took you the ground and choked the life out of you, or worst pummeled your face in?.. I guess you can sleep better at night because at least you stood up like a man, then that faggot slammed me on my neck..

Also, why would a MMA guy fight a top level boxer in the ring? He never claims to be a boxer. Just like its unlikely he would out wrestle a Olympic wrestler, or submit a top level jujitsu guy. But he would destroy all of them in a street fight.

I hope so. But boxing has clearly descended from where it was even in the 90's which was a drop off from the 80's. After Pacquio and Maywhether retire then whats next? Also when you still have 40 year old men holding belts thats a problem. Back in the day if you hung out in that ring a little to long a young boy would retire your ass for good.

BTW this weekend is a big event for both sports..:dance:

Arum is a fucking moron.....

Boxing is one sport...UFC/MMA is another. I can appreciate both. Although I prefer MMA.

Im not really a fan of mma but to me it seems like he's just pissed because boxing fucked themselves over the years. Any network would love to have big boxing fights on their schedule but with all the bullshit boxing puts out there they just decided to go with the up and coming sport.

I don't understand why so many boxing fanatics just HATE MMA or always wanna say "let's see a MMA guy in the boxing ring!". Hopefully more will follow in B-Hop's footsteps. He hated MMA but recently got a newfound respect for the sport and even tutors Rashad Evans now...

I just don't get all the hate.

They are contracted other combat sports.... one simply uses different techniques and strategies than the other. Its the rules which dictate the tactics used ....
The problem with lmao is that most of them don't specialize in a specific style and reconstruct the techniques, yet follow the same battle ideas of other MMA fighters which works.
I would prefer a contest of different styles instead of the generic mixture of what might work in the octagon
