I applaud the effort, they just need help on that backend. I ran a test on gtmetrix and the site was too slow to even make an analysis
try to help him out...maybe he don't have the right experts...you the only one that has said anything about gtmetrix
That sounds great on the surface but on the facts....that's simply not a true statement at all. My comment wasn't just about this person but about people who want to be a black business. Instead of people a black person who owns a business.
Now I just don't see how this could be the next Facebook if it (with the name) limiting the audience.

This is a niche market by marketing definitions though. I don't think dude had any intention of becoming the next facebook.
For a WHOLE lot of reasons, it's a good idea to have a black facebook right now.
- black people are getting banned left and right for posting anything pertaining to race on facebook
- much of the viral content from facebook comes from poor black people that don't get compensated for their content
- Facebook is front street and the block is hot
- Facebook has raced-based marketing, allowing advertisers to target African-Americans specifically, yet black advertisers can't target white people specifically, see how that works?
- This could be HUGE for developing a black economy & strengthening black business
- Black people need a place where they can talk freely away from white co-workers and bosses, etc.
- The list goes on and on.
Imo, the only thing holding this site back right now is lightning fast speed, a some site design issues. If they get that worked out, the possibilities are endless.
All of that can be achieved without limiting the audience. In fact the site could do what Facebook is doing to black to white folk.
Yeah from some of the comments I've seen this may be an attempt to create a safe space. There were comments I saw about putting up a pic so people know you aren't white, and comments that appear as though their membership isn't really being courted.

Its always diff when it comes to us vs them even with our own people. Its seems ok they can do shit like this and black people blindly support.
I dont see the issue at all for him to corner the black dollar and market on facebook. Im steady hearing many of you saying we need our own this and that...well here it is. Create black jobs and black wealth. Chane social media up so our people will be the ones who gets credit for all the innovation instead of it goong to facebook who isnt doing shit for black people.
