Yup. And there's no way to tell until you download and try to play the mother fucker.

So you can have some friends over about to watch The Magnificent Seven, The Equalizer, Pixels (all that I know off the top of my head) have your family over set to watch it and...BOOM - sound goes out 30 minutes into the movie and you got to watch something else

There is a workaround: if you connect your external hard drive through the USB port on your television AND your TV can play MP4/Avi (Samsung does and some others) it plays fine, you just won't have the surround sound.

If they worked something like this into porn it would limit piracy

The problem with Black porn is its not done professionally. You can't have a porn set where the homey trying to fuck everything in sight. You can't go hire low budget ass strippers and expect them to produce on film. What really hurt the Black porn industry is Backpage and the escort industry. Why would i stay on set all day for some low ass money fucking with some unprofessional ass dudes when she can sell pussy online which is easier and more profitable. Through all my years... the one thing that I’m certain of is that there is an exploit for everything. There’s no way you can stop piracy..

It happened to me last night with Sicario. Got about a half hour into the movie and I got the Cinavia message and the sound cut out while playing the downloaded movie on my PlayStation 3.

There is a bypass, I can put it on an external flash drive and plug it directly into my TV
 
I can't get a dime for my content, just death threats, illegal surveillance, constant nonsensical ramblings, and cars chasing me everywhere. These fools will invent reason not to pay.

It is not worth the hassle in the U.S. to get paid.
