Black Women and Obama

I think most of y'all like him because you like HIM not cause his issues.

Now, I know it's not all of you, and on SOL there is a disproportionately high number of women that know the issues...

but in the real world...

This thread was inspired by a friend of mine who's huge on Obama. After the speech on Tuesday, I called her to get her thoughts, since she's huge on Obama...

"What'd you think about it," I said.

"It was really good," she said.

"Anything in particular that you liked?" I said.

"I loved everything," she said. "He's just so wonderful in everything he says."

"But what part did you really like?" I said.

"All of it," she said.

that is why i picked him over hillary. He is smooth with his words in the same way Bill Clinton and JFK and Regan on the republican side were. I hate to listen to people talk and feel that they are talking down to me.

How is that any different from how BLACK MEN feel about him? It's not like they've fallen into man-love with him based on his opinions on various ISSUES. They just dig him because he's a charismatic BLACK MAN (who also happens to be electable). A black male standard-bearer. You're implying that only black women support him in a superficial way. Hardly true. Black women actually have a more complex view on the issues (and the candidates) than black men do.
