Is there a thread for current material featuring black heroes? Some of my people just put out a novel recently. Took it to Barbados and they were a hit with it. We need more.....

OP, none of those books are from the 60's. Black superheroes (from marvel & dc) didn't start getting solo books until the 70's.

Just sayin'.

Cool. I didn't read comics as a kid, and habe only recently gotten interested in them from movies and conversations with comic heads. Good to see some people of color.

Death of the New Gods

But, in fairness to the op, though the characters may have not got their own books until the 70's, Black Panther made his first appearance in 1966 and the Falcon made his debut in 1969.

This....

My son is in elementary school and loves to read. I was hoping to find some Black themed comics that would fuel his interest in reading. I read comics just a little bit as a kid, so my knowledge is pretty limited in this area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Here is another one, and the comic was decent. Marvel kept having her codename stolen by the Original Captain Marvel's son Genis-Vell, but in career she has been an Avenger and even led the team for a while. She is now on a team called the Ultimates and is as powerful as ever.
