Black Mafia’s Hummer limo hid $875,000 in cash
By RHONDA COOK

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Thursday, October 30, 2008

The Hummer limousine seized from the drug-dealing Black Mafia Family almost four years ago had been sold at auction, then sold three times more. It had been carrying teenagers to proms and brides and grooms to weddings.

But as federal officials prepared for a June trial, they “debriefed” other BMF members and learned agents missed something when they searched the Hummer.

In August, agents tracked down the car, looked underneath the seats and found $875,000 in cash and seven brand new semi-automatic weapons, believed to be proceeds from BMF cocaine transactions.

The four “innocent owners,” according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert McBurney, knew nothing.

Information about the money and guns found in two “traps” was discussed this week as members of the BMF charged in Atlanta were sentenced.

Federal agents seized the black 2003 Hummer H2 stretch limousine in November 2004 when they raided one of BMF’s stash houses, “Space Mountain” on Paran Place in an upper-class northwest Atlanta neighborhood.

BMF members had cleaned out and fled the house, but they left the Hummer because they did not have keys to a car blocking the limousine.

McBurney said agents searched the limo and nothing found. The limo changed hands several times, finally ending up with Atlanta’s Comfort Limousine.

The Hummer was one of the extravagances BMF enjoyed with profits from its violent drug organization.

Brothers Demetrius “Big Meech” and Terry “Southwest T” Flenory created BMF in the mid-1980s by selling crack cocaine in Detroit. Within a few years, the BMF controlled crack and cocaine distribution in 11 states. Atlanta became a key city in the nationwide organization, according to prosecutors.

BMF began to unravel in November when the brothers pleaded guilty in Detroit. Sixteen people were indicted in Atlanta, and of those 11 have pleaded guilty; 10 were sentenced on Wednesday and Thursday. Indictments have been returned in Orlando, Louisville, Greenville and Los Angeles

How do you buy a car (A limo no less), and don't go through that shit with a fine tooth comb? :smh: If I bought it that cash would have been mine.

So if they had found the money and stashed it or spent it, wouldn't they have gotten into trouble? :dunno:

Somebody school me on the legal implications of something like that.

well seeing that it had been through four different owners, they wouldnt be able to say who had the money, so they would chalked that shit up and probably assumed the nigga that told them was just talking shit

Got ya. They would need proof that money was even in the vehicle in the first place. And then they'd have to prove that you actually took the money.

BUT......it is possible that they could watch the paper trails (bank statements) of everyone that purchased that car. If you found the money and went ballin out of control....and then the feds knocked on the door a couple of years later....You probably would fess up. If the FBI/DEA knocks on your door and asks about you finding money in a hidden compartment, if you didn't find the money, than it is just a question. If you did find and spend the money and the feds come asking about the money, it is a rhetorical question....cause you think that they already KNOW the answer.

So the current owners get to keep the cash right? I thought auctions were an "As Is" situation.

If so, DAMN what a come-up.

....or is it possible that the money and guns belonged to someone else...besides a Black Mafia member...maybe someone who had been riding around in the vehicle AFTER it was sold........... and maybe the crooked feds just figured theyll say it belonged to the niggas so they can add more shit to thier case.

possible?

u always have to keep that type of stuff in mind even if the case involves criminals. majority of the time the feds are the bigger criminals than the people theyre arresting

If you bought the car, didn't know, found it and spent it, no problem. BUT....if feds came back to you and you didn't report it on income tax, they could hit you with tax evasion. The way to go would be to find it and go s-l-o-w. You could deny ever finding it, oh, and of course, don't tell anybody else SHIT !!!!

Them Cats will probably end up spending just as much cash fighting the feds to get that shit back. That's a no win situation.:smh:

the new owners didn't find it because it was in a "TRAP"

it was probably in a secret compartment that only opened with a hidden switch.

i agree that if a new owner found it and didn't ball out of control, he would be set for life

I had a Slantback Seville on 84's some years ago.Paid a mexican cat $2g's for a motorized stash spot.Had to stick a penny in a lil slot by the radio and the window had to be up so the inside part of the driver side door would split open. The section with the armrest would raise up.So if I got pulled over they couldn't open my shit because the window was down.

Kept all my syrup there and a Glock for them jackers:yes:

with the hundreds of arrest made to bmf members and associates it's obvious some1 informed the feds that there was a large amount of money in the vehicle. why else would they track down the vehicle that had already been raided and cleaned several times. The vehicle was long gone, 4 owners later and everything....obviously some1 informed them of the money and secret compartment. Federal agents had already seized and searched the vehicle. Dogs and everything was already used. BMF had some vary hefty technology to throw off k9's and many other methods the feds use. They weren't using some old school safe sex (latex, fabric softner and vaseline) shyt. They weren't stashing dope and money inside tires and hubcaps. That shyt would get u buy in the 80s but most state and border patrols have caught on to that. BMF had air sensors, secret compartments that take over an hour to get too with the proper tools. They were high tech. Just like T.I. said on "you ain't missing nothing" "ain't nobody ever did like ya'll did" there will never be another black street fam like . Hate all u want, they are the reason the music industry blew up out here. Unfortunately crimes were committed and lives were destroyed. But, they weren't as violent as these gangs worldwide. And they helped alot of people, accept that or not. Too many idiots got in the circle, too many street thugs were let in.

Jeezy "You can fit about 50 in the hummer, them birds fly down south to Georgia for the summer"

17.5 x 50 = 875,000

I read somewhere before they had some shit that could be sprayed like a mist over the drugs or money and the dogs couldn't pick up the scent. But you know the feds wont let all the details out about that shit or else a bunch of niggaz will be using that same shit.

Thats crazy.

Yeah, it is.

I got a nigga that shop w/ me and he says he knows some of them niggas including Meech, so one day I asked him about my issue w/ Jeezy name-dropping Big Meech all the time. He said it was with Big Meech's permission, even recalled them all eating at the same table and Meech pointing to Bleu and Jeezy saying that "these the niggas that talk for me, everytime you hear 'em, they talking for me".

I guess ain't no code broken if the nigga approved and encouraged the shit (name-dropping)
