Question what is the best flat curling iron for black hair. Im looking for a .5 inch model, I have to keep the lady looking good..

Something like this will be perfect but just can't seem to find a quality one, ask the hairstylist what they are using they refuse to answer and give details..

Tell her to find out which one her stylist uses...Then hit up EBAY for the best prices..

well most flat irons allow you to BUMP your hair..not necessarily curl it.

well this is what i use and i LOVE it

it comes with a lil small one for touch up's/ shorter hair; you can curl your hair with it. i love it cuz of the lil teeth in it cuz it detangles instead of just making it flat....when i was natural this is what i used to give me a "relaxed" look or if i wanted to loosen my curls a bit.

its kinda pricey but worthy ( i believe hair is one of the things you should splurge on)

my suggestion as some ppl have said....check out what they are using at the hair salon that she goes to.

i'll ask around and get back to u

I heard that FHI and CHI were the best flat irons. You can get some discounted at www.overstock.com .

My roomie has an FHI and I was impressed.

yeah i heard great things about CHI...my friend raves about it...she says it handles her "thick African hair" (her words not mine).

and this girl had one doing other girls hair while we stayed in a hotel for an orientation for an internship i had once so yeah its good money

but can it curl hair tho?

I have flat ceramics that go to 400 degrees. If you pull it extremely tight when making a pass, your hair will curl up into tight spiral-like curls, that is how you make your hair curly with flat irons, use oil, good irons, and pull it really slow and really tight, and your hair will bounce up into a curl. They last long too. I can't think of the name of my irons though. Caught them on sale for about $15.

I have a Farouck (sp) Deep Brillance - it's from the same makers as the CHI but for women of color. I love it! just one swipe and I'm done and that says a lot with this kinky hair I have!
