Our West Coast Regional Director will play a key role on the Black Girls CODE team as we scale our programs across the West Coast and beyond. We’re looking for a proven leader, change agent and innovator to help us build sustainable chapters and expand our presence and impact in the West/Mid-West chapter regions . We are looking with someone with a deep passion for tech diversity and inclusion and a strong sense of creating positive change in the world through social impact work.
The successful candidate for this role must have proven leadership ability in an established organization with key management experience leading teams and work groups. This position will work from our Bay Area office and report directly to our Executive Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Responsible for supervising regional program staff and overseeing development, implementation, evaluation, research, and continuous improvement of our programs on the West Coast (CA, WA, NV, IL, etc)
● Ensure program alignment across all regional sites and locations to organizational goals and objectives
● Support the operations of the regional chapters, including helping to manage logistics around our workshops, lead fundraising and development efforts, manage budgeting and planning for regional programs, and serve as the liaison between local volunteer teams, corporate partners, community partners, and headquarters staff
● Participate in regional affinity groups and technology events, as appropriate, to enhance BGC's regional impact and presence
● Work collaboratively with SF headquarters staff to execute our organizational vision and strategy for inspiring and empowering young women of color to embrace technology as creators and innovators
● Utilize data to track and report program performance and progress and identify areas of improvement to promote organizational growth across the region and nationally

REQUIREMENTS
- BS/BA Required;

The Program Manager will lead the strategy and execution of all Black Girls CODE programs overseeing development, implementation, evaluation, research, and continuous improvement of the program models. S/he will support the development and implementation of program initiatives, community outreach, communications, and administrative operations in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. The Program Manager will effectively and eagerly operate across all departments of a startup nonprofit and play a critical role in setting the direction of both current and future Black Girls CODE programs across all organizational locations assigned.
The successful candidate will have experience with developing, launching and managing training programs and curricula in a K-12, nonprofit environment and/or corporate environment. Successful candidates will have demonstrated capabilities using technology tools to manage projects or programs (Google docs, Microsoft Office, email, etc) but computer science expertise is desired and highly recommended. Direct experience working with teenagers (or experience coordinating programs for teenagers) is a plus but not required. The Program Manager will be a new, full-time position reporting to the Executive Director.

Only candidates with a background in engineering, science, or technology will be considered for this role. Direct experience working with teenagers (or experience coordinating programs for teenagers) is a plus but not required. Black Girls CODE (BGC) is building a CORE Team of volunteers to help build healthy and sustainable chapters worldwide. We are looking for talented, passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers interested in educating and empowering girls of color, ages 7-17, in computer programming and technology. Powered by over 1000 volunteers across the globe - our volunteers are committed to empowering young girls of color and are located in San Francisco, Oakland, Atlanta, New York, Memphis, Detroit, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Johannesburg South Africa. Our CORE Team members are technology professionals, recent grads, teachers, and students dedicated to scaling and creating a sustainable organization to educate and empower BGC students. They’re gaining valuable leadership skills and life changing experiences, while developing a strong foundation for our daughters to learn and become the tech leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
