Please believe it has nothing do to with any "American pride" but I will not dissasociate myself with the very people who's struggle and sacrifice put Me and Mines in the position we are today in spite of their obstacles.
Bottom line: I'm proud to associate myself with the likes of:
And so on and so on...Music, Culture, Sports, Business...The contributions of African Americans to the world in spite of 500+ years of systematic oppression that has only been minimized but not erased in 2011 is something I'm very proud of. Won't knock anyone else's choice but too many "Greatest ever's" pictured above to roll with anyone else for me.
