Black America in 1990...30 years later has anything changed?

That has been Obama's target but does he have the votes to get it done..

Those who don't vote don't take any blame for that either ,they say he can just do it himself with executive order..

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

they don't realize executive orders and temporary and far easier to change than laws..

Right on!!!!

Thing is killers are getting younger and younger, shit don't make no sense.

Ronald Reagan war on drugs, from 1982 til the present day!! Has turn our community against each other!! It's going to take a generation or two, to get our ship back upright!!
How old are you? You must be young, because there was way more killing back in the days of crack..

My man I grew up during the Rockefeller drug laws and Regans laws were just a national implementation of them.

I have personal friends and relatives that got sentences of 10 years and more for a single joint.

25 to life for personal stashes were the norm.

cats getting 0-99 sentences meaning they face violations for the rest of their lives.

Just cause cats trying to make things worse now don't make it so...

Its just more visible now with cell phone cameras and the internet.

To be honest, something had to be done, if not NYC would be the way Mexico is today.. I lost a shit load of friends killed over drug wars, not to mention the millions of lives and children who lives were destroyed because of drug use..
To me those selling drugs to their people deserved what they got, whats sad is many of them had children who also had to suffer..
To sugges (as many do) they shouldn't had to pay for the crimes against the black community is very irresponsible..
People like to blame the war on drugs, but every nation infected with the outbreak of crack did something about it, the ones that didn't wound up like Mexico…

some things got better......I am going to keep real in the mid to late 90's things was looking real good but two things happened that slowed or stop our progress. 1. we got a little lazy. 2. GW Bush and the Republicans taken over states (especially southern states) really fuck us over i.e. cutting a ton of state jobs that was good paying jobs.

You are now a certified coon and possum! :smh: You are now a suspected white supremacist!

Blacks built this country, the one thing they have never been is lazy! :smh:

see thats the dirty little secret no one wants to talk about thats all those stringent drug laws were demanded and applauded by the black community..

people got fed up and tired of seein their neighhborhood look like gunfight at the okay corral and see stories about little kids getting killed in cross fires. :smh::smh:

Man I remember when folks used to throw illegal block parties, tapping into street lights gor power, all was good yell the dumb coons started shooting up the joint for fun… Then the cops shut it down. Later on the next generation starts complaining why we can't get permits and have big block parties, when they are too young to remember the coons who fucked shit up..

Man on that note they are talking about closing down or placing restrictions on the J’Ouvert festival due to, you guessed it, a bunch of Coons fucking up again..
We need to stop covering up for these enemies of our people and do what the Italian mob does, the Chinese and most unified groups do, that is take out the trash, or the people who brings attention to the cops and government..
But instead we cover up for them and hide them, fuck that no snitch bullshit, because one you attack the community you gets no passes!!!

Gang violence and teen pregnancy is no where near where it was in the 90s.The biggest change I've seen is tattoos.

FT_teen-birth-rate-young-old-1970-2012.png
Tattoos r way up. All these young niggas look exactly the same.
Dominicans still dont think they're black

people have posted clear evidence that things ARE BETTER for us yet folks are still arguing the opposite with nary a fact to be seen.

:smh:
They r fools. Facts r facts. Things r significantly better. Lets add this to the discussion.
Race Gap Narrows in College Enrollment, But Not in Graduation

Saying something had to be done is obvious, but that doesnt justify what was done. For starters, the police and local govt couldve started by not letting Black neighborhoods be an "Anything Goes" zone for decades. This created conditions condusive to the proliferation of heroin and then crack when it hit and it made things much, much worse than they should have been. Of course hard working black folks wanted relief from that. It doesnt justify their outsized response. They created the problem and then in 'fixing' it, created another whole set of problems. They dont get a pass on that, because their approach wouldn't have been the same for white neighborhoods. This shit is the gov'ts fault on every single count, GUILTY!!

Thank you Radical I was going to say similar.

The response for black problems is always lock'em up and throw away the key.

It should be what can you do to save the community.

The government viewed black people in ghettoized communities as largely disposable.

The only option the government gave black people for cleaning their neighborhood up was the harshest techniques.

Before long both democrats and republicans were competing to see who could be the toughest on crime.

Yeah, because our 'leaders' are always so far behind white leaders that they couldn't see that prohibition was the problem not the drugs. So they just followed the prohibition plan until it became 'in' for white people to question prohibition. :smh:

As for people arguing how much better it is, damn you guys don't get what you're arguing. You guys are basically saying all the racist drug war worked. What are the results of a police state and mass incarceration? Naturally, less crime. Even the people locked up for non-violent crimes were 'in the game' and might have done some violent shit. And what about children? Can't have children while you doing that mandatory minimum.

So after all the damage has been done with mass jailing, people like  "It's better now" and don't know what the fuck they are arguing.

There has got to be a falling away first, so that people can be exposed for what they really are. Blacks have yet to go back to being themselves. The way we were before other races were created. Mainly the white race.
By doing that we have a chance to save the babies. Remember they feel they have us beat before we start because we were born in a world they created.

Programmed to be black on the outside but white on the inside. White ideas, white values, etc. Carbon copies of whites in order to be successful.

I agree 100%, whats frustrating is that the conscious community warned them back then how the cops was setting us up and how they were giving us the rope to hang ourselves, so the white man will be able to do exactly what they are doing now.. The problem is like the youth today folks didn't want yo hear that bullshit..
What pisses me off more, is some of the very same folks who was fucking up, ignoring the wise advice from our elders, now are the ones playing Super black conscious brother and are still causing confusion by dividing conscious brothers..
On one hand we have racist whites with a plan, and on the other hand we have these street coons who work as their facitators or enablers..
Bottom line, the bullshit has to stop..

Bump for 2022...

The streets have been HOT for the last cpl of years during this covid pandemic. Drug use is up, crime is up, murders are up in some cities.

What is going on with everything?

Is Trump to blame? Or is it Biden?

Did the defund the police movement cause the police to fall back in their responsibilities to protect and serve?

Is the prevalence of social media to blame for the increase of teenagers committing violent crimes? Is it cool to rob and steal now as a teenager?

Compare to the 90's? That's not true bro

We are doing better than the 90's. The numbers are not even close

Are WE doing better? Some would say things were better in the 90s (depends on who you ask tho).

I spoke to a young sista a few weeks back. She said she wished she grew up in the 90s because the music was better (She's was born in 2001 or 2002).

I'm just presenting the question to the board.

Thank you for your perspective and response. I appreciate it.
