BLACK ACHIEVEMENTS: Physicist James Gates

"Computer code written into the equations we want to use to describe the cosmos."

This is heavy shit man. He is essentially trying to work backwards from the binary to the equations. It's so heavy that hardly anyone would be able to argue his theory because of the level of mathematics involved would require an equal level of physics. Even so if you are to get the mathematical equations right, we still don't have enough knowledge to be able to explain the physical meanings of the equations.

Conventionally, we take use mathematics to explain the physics. We can take those equations used in physics and use numerical methods to make these equations solvable in a numerical simulation. The problem here is that, numerical methods have several different ways to discretize equations, meaning, there is no one way to do it. To further complicate the discretization of the equations, our calculations grow in error over time. To even further complicate the numerical methods, the scale of what we need to explain the cosmos is so small that we haven't constructed a grid fine enough to explain the small processes that we still don't know to exist.

this brother and dr tyson are my adult ass science heroes. i hate that no one ever knows who the fuck i'm talking about.

it seems ridiculous to respond to this with "ikr?"

but...

Folk came to my university as a guest speaker. I wanted to go to his lecture, but I conveniently had my preliminary exam that day so i missed it.

I want to meet Dr. Gates and Tyson one day.

I find Dr. gates theory so fascinating because every lecture I heard him talk about this theory, nobody can corner him. They want to clown and call it ridiculous, but they can't. The computer scientist don't know enough math and physics, the physicist don't know enough math and computer science, and us mathematicians don't know enough physics but we know computer science :D

In order to prove this theory, we have to decode this "hidden code" into an equation that makes sense. Essentially Gates, have provided himself with enough grant money and funding to last him for the rest of his life.
