Starts at 2 minutes...

A lot to dissect here.

Reviewing your own contract?

The lawyer not being his?

Not understanding producer credits?

Understanding ownership?

Signing an artist and hating on them?

IF TRUE? this is a lot

On that platform, with THIS nasty mother fucker, he wants to tell his truth :smh:

Blacks folks never learn. Keep business behind closed doors especially in front of uncommon company

Are folks still this stupid not to get their own lawyer to look over a contract & also educating themselves on the industry. When I thought about doing some work in the entertainment industry, one of boys who's an entertainment attorney gave me a couple of books so that I'd have at least a basic understanding of how things work. Same thing with my photography business, first thing I educated myself on was copyright law, rights usage & contracts.

I listened and though it's possible he seems like someone who is trying to sound knowledgeable and business minded but is the exact opposite.

Signing to work with someone who is established and then attempting to dictate how you want it to go is unrealistic. It seems that Chris/Comedy Central signed him for one thing and he decided he wanted to do something else.

The contract shit is on him. Contracts won't be in your favor and your responsibile for making sure you get as much as you can. He said all that shit but never said he went out and had the contract reviewed by a second lawyer who he hired himself which is common sense and easy to do but he doesn't appear to have done it.

He kept saying Chris was hating on him but never seemed to give any examples. It also seems that Chris was possibly giving him honest advice/criticism (such as suggesting he not do comedy since he isn't a comedian.)

The brother reminds me of one of my nephews who is always on some know it all, being difficult shit thinking he can control or dictate shit without earning it.

If he feels this way he should just build up his show and ideas himself to prove he can do it his way and make it work at which time he'll have the leverage to negotiate a deal he wants.

Dude didn’t want to listen how they wanted him to do his stuff, he said he rather had done the YouTube stuff he was doing..well looks like Chris let him choose his YouTube stuff

how do you go into contract negotiations without a lawyer? How is that Chris Rock's fault? I think this guy keeps shooting himself in the foot and blaming other people. Maybe some mental health issues.

Do you notice him imply that Chris and his lawyer were BOTH trying to snake him?

And isn't it sad in 2026 we are STILL seeing this type of business being done?
It's sad that in 2026 this shit is still going on, but got to think about it America was built on slavery, so every minute of every day someone is trying to find a way to finesse a poorer person out of some money so they can be richer, and often times when they already have a lot of money.
