since we talk alot about sex...lets talk about birth control!

here are some questions

1. whats your choice of birth control and why?

2. anyone try to patch or even the thing they insert in you that is supposed to prevent you from having kids for 5 years? im seriously thinking about it

3. for everyone on the pill...ok so this is a dumb question so brace yourself...u know those placebo/sugar pills u take towards the end of the month to make your period come...are u not supposed to have sex when you are on those? personally i dont start my period until the 4th pill...wdf am i supposed to do for those 3 days!!:angry:

I don't use anything right now. I am usually on the pill though,I don't really like it.

hell no,lol. I am paranoid about being infertile for 5 years especially considering my period isnt regular.

My doctor advises me to use a condom during that time,because you know it is no protection during those days.

I Do Not Take Birth Control Pills At All, But I Do Have A Inner Uterine Device That Lasts For 5 Years. It Is Great That You Do Not Have To Worry About Having Kids For A While And Especially Taking Birth Control Pills On An Every Day Basis.

@logic...how is that working for you? do u still have a monthly cycle?..does it affect sex at all?...im seriously considering swtiching from yaz to that cause im not good at taking pill everyday...

the reason why im hesitant is because i tried the shot a long time ago and it made my period a BEAST...to the point i had to switch to the pill...im real weary of stuff i you dont have to take everyday due to the evil shot
 
Right now I'm not taking shit but I did take the pill. When I go back on I'll probably get the NuvaRing since the IUD is kinda expensive and thats what I really want. I want the copper IUD for 10years no preggo. I would jump for joy if I can get it. I heard it hurts like hell to get put in, is that true Logic?

well i'm taking Femcon Fe, the chewable BC. this is my 1st time EVER on BC. I literally started like 2 weeks ago. I'm using it to regulate my menstrual. My doctor suggested it to me and we talked about side effects, hormone levels and such.

no b/c of all of the side effects and issues people i know have had with them, plus the stuff i learned in my human sexuality class let me know that is NOT for ME...but its cool for other people.

if u having sex, u should be strapped but def strap up on those days particularly. you might want to talk to your doctor about your period not starting til the 4th day...he might have you adjust how you take the BC. better safe than sorry and it doesn't hurt to ask.

I'm thinking about going to the shot or something that lasts a long time cuz taking the pill everyday just gets annoying. I absolutely HATE having my period.

Yeah, you're protected cuz that's your period week. I don't even take those things. I either start a new pack or just wait for my period.
 
Yeah we're off the vcf's... lol nobody takin anymore damn chances. Just got back on the pill. I'm considering .. heavily. getting my mastectomy and hysterectomy. None of stuff is being used or will be used.

It is.

I'm ok with it though. I wanted the IUD but getting it in there...I've had some bad experiences with the female doctors. SO instead of being berated and chastised, I'll take the down of the shot.

If you've had bad experiences with female docs then request a male. Why were these doctor chastising you to begin with? Highly unprofessional.:smh:

My ob/gyn when I was pregnant with child one was the worst :smh::angry:

Moms never took me to the doc as a kid, so my first pap wasn't until after I started having sex. Them clamps hurt me to my core - I'd rather break a bone, set it with no drugs. Next thing I know I'm crying and getting yelled at "You open your legs for your boyfriend don't you? You can take this."

EVERY doctor I've been to since then, except for one, has pretty much given me some iteration of this line. I've even gotten asked if I was abused as a kid, (which I haven't). So the thought of the speculum anywhere near me, I shut down. I LOVE bdsm porn and I can't even watch the nurse ones where they like to play with the things. It's physically nauseating.

With the shot I only had to do that once, and as long as I'm in the window they give me I get my shot and I move on. It's better for me cause I don't really have a way to get through these examinations. I got one coming so I might have to take off for a few days. Yeah it's unprofessional but I'm beginning to see it more as verbal abuse cause now I'm thinking that something is wrong with ME.
 
Ok no professional has any right to talk to anyone like that she should have known better. Terrible thing for you to have to go through my doc breaks down every thing step by step she even warms up the speculum for my comfort.
My previous doc was male and he was good too.
You should consider finding a new one sis no one should demean you like that especially when you are at your most vulnerable. If that had been me I would have stopped her right there. Very disrespectful to the woman that is under her care. Do no harm. ...isn't that the oath. You should never be afraid of your own doc. ...:mad:

Hi Ladies,

1. My choice of birth control is the pill. I chose the pill because I like to know when my period is coming and it helps with cramps...I also take other things like vitamins so keeping up with taking it each day is not hard.

2. I've never tried the patch or the mirena...I would like to have children within 2-3 years so that is not a good option for me right now...

3. I have never taken the placebo pills at the end of the pack. My period naturally comes on w/o having to take them. I think you should be fine having sex when taking them. I've had sex before my period starts and I was good.
