How would then 100 million be paid back first. How Would Cash Money operate business cost and expense?
to answer your question,
Baby and Slim DO have that kind of money.
Cash Money as an LLC the they own outright.
they also own all writers and publishing rights thru their company Money Mack Music (yes, Baby was fuckin them kids and Mannie Fresh ROYALLY)
Cash Money had a catalouge of over 30 albums before they went major that generated millions for Baby and Slim years before Universal stepped in.
the initial 30 million deal was an advance towards records sold.
it was strictly a P&D deal.
the only thing CM had to pay Uni was recoupments for the advance and money to pay for the services of Unis Marketing staff.
they recouped that 30 mil with Juveniles album ALONE.
400 degreez sold 4 million copies (4 million x $10 a copy = 40 million, 10 mil profit)
all the other albums that came after was all profit for CM.
when they renewed their deal with Uni for 100 million it was again an advance against records sold, operational costs, and future publishing royalties that Unis publishing company administered.
even tho Cash Money fell by the wayside thru the years and couldnt recapture the success they had in the 90s, they still managed to sell damn near 8 million records in the early 2000s.
with the success of Teena Marie, Kevin Rudolf, and Jay Sean,
they are now just as successful as a pop label then they are as a rap label .
i know Baby is a fuckin clown,
but the dudes is insanely rich.
do i believe he put up 4 million on that fight?
no, but u never know when it comes to that dude.
does he actually have the dough to drop like that?
of course he does.
u cant deny or debate that he doesnt.
