I agree to an extent, but that being said, alot of succesful people have come from single parent homes.
If the percentage of successful people is (let's say) 20%
Of those 20% (raised by single mothers) leaves the hood and make something of themselves then what about the other 80% that stay in the hood?
At what point do the 80% left behind become the parasites that
don't work and go on to kill the children and males of the first 20% that left?
When people say, well not everybody in a single parent household turns out badly they forget the rest of them that do. It's like putting a band aid on a bullet wound. You can't fix the problem unless you take emotion out of it and take a LOOOOOOOOONG hard look in the mirror.
THE #1 FACTOR THAT LEADS TO POVERTY IS CHILD-BEARING! Not Lack of education.
If you are a single person working 2 jobs and never produces any children you won't be rich, but you can make it.
Now add children to a person with no education and they are by themselves and see how poverty grows.
And let's face it. Back in the day a woman could have some kids out of wedlock and it was frowned upon. Now the shit is not only accepted, but it's FUCKING expected! If you have a black daughter society at large expects that she will have children and raise them alone. WE NEED TO NIP THIS BULLSHIT IN THE BUD....Sadly we have to many weak hearted dudes who want to suck it up and contribute the problem!

im really not a bill cosby fan. a lot of kids do talk like that. not because their parents didnt teach them or they do know how to talk. Mostly its because its the in thing. just like snap music. My step daughter talks like on the phone to her friends but speaks proper english to us. she's graduating on sat. has a full scholarship to grambling and is on her way to becoming a lawyer. 5. I don't want to do all that work.
And when these quotes are thrown out by some of our undisciplined black youth, the one black person who tried so hard to share his techniques in success acutally throws his/her arms in the air and gives up. He leaves his old community, puts his/her money together, move to a nice neighborhood and just forgets the entire thing.
Then those same people go on talk radio and complain oh how that successful black person never comes to the neighborhood and help out the kids who need help.
Well HELLO!!! He/she may have tried only to be berated and insulted. So he/she said fuck it. He/she is made. They don't want to hear my messages so fuck them. I made my money. They cut me down and call me a sellout when I'm trying to help.
That succesful black person leaves and never returns.
What I'm trying to get here that we as a black people are DAMN FORTUNATE to have someone like Bill Cosby who despite being criticized by his own people willing to look beyond that and still try to promote a positive message to our youth that need it so much.
With the bullshit criticism Bill Cosby put up with I admire him for not giving up in encouraging black youth to look beyond basketball and rap music in order to be successful.
