Your friend Rob got caught up in a very sticky situation because one night he was going to visit his girlfriend and when he arrived at her place she was outside arguing with this guy he didn't know.

His girlfriend told him that the guy was harassing her and she had first encountered him when she went to the corner bodega. The guy was standing around with some other guys and they spoke to her and she addressed them with a nice "hi," but apparently that wasn't good enough for this one guy (he was trying to impress his friends and she politely told him that she was involved with someone).

Rob tried his best to defuse the situation by explaining that the young lady was his girlfriend and he asked could you please just leave her alone. A civil conversation was not good enough for this guy and he pushed Rob (big mistake).

What the guy didn't know was that Rob "has hands," (he knows how to fight and is a very good boxer) in addition, Rob also studied various Martial arts.

After the guy pushed Rob, Rob stayed cool until the guy swung on him and then Rob had to retaliate.

Now, Rob was just defending his girlfriend and himself, but when the cops arrived and saw Rob standing over this guy who was laying there in a bloody mess, they had to arrest them both on Assault charges.

Because Rob is gainful employed he had to hire a private Attorney after his arraignment and he ended up hiring Ms. Wanda Figueroa, who initially requested a retainer of about $5,000, which Rob didn't really have at the time.

Rob didn't have too many options and Ms. Figueroa told him don't fret we can work out another method of payment.



 
When you first saw Laura Fernandez in the Supermarket you were struggling to figure out her ethnic background. The majority of the women that worked there were Latinas, and from the looks of things you could assume that they were either Puerto Rican or Dominican.

However, there was always the chance you could be wrong, so why not just ask her?

After all, she was always nice to you and greeted you with a smile when you went to her check out line, and you tried not to make it obvious that even if another line was empty that you still stood in her line and waited.

Eventually, you would become familiar with her and you figured you would try a trick and tell her that you were planning on going on vacation and asked her where did she think you should visit?

Without hesitation, she said:
"Medellin, Colombia that my home and it's beautiful there, the food, the weather you would love it there!"

That gave you the opening to invite her out so that she could tell you more about Colombia and she agreed to go out with you.

The relationship was going well and you did a pretty good job of keeping it a secret from the employees at the Supermarket, but from the strange smiles you would get from the other cashiers you suspected that they were aware that you were dating Laura.

You could deal with that, but what you weren't really prepare for was the first time she invited you into her bedroom. Maybe it was the loose fitting clothing and the fact when you first started seeing her in the Supermarket she was usually facing you when you were standing in line.

All you could say was...Wow!

 
About a 2 months ago your friend Janet needed a big favor from you. She required some work done in her apartment because of a leak in the kitchen and the maintenance men had to detach her washing machine hoses and forgot to reattach them.

They probably would have done the job for her, but the problem was running into them and making the request, so she gave you a call instead.

You agreed to met up with her one Saturday afternoon around 4:00 PM, and you figured it would be a simple job that should take no more than 30 minutes. However, 30 minutes turned into 3 hours because when you arrived at her apartment she was entertaining her friend, Malina Cabrera.

This was your first time meeting Malina and she let it be know that she was a single parent raising a teenage daughter and a preteen son (you're thinking this would be a first for you if you accepted the assignment, Mr. Hawke).

You got along quite well with Malina and the conversation flowed between the three of you and you even ran out and got a pizza and some soda for this mini party. One thing you notice about Malina was that she appeared to say what was on her mind and to a degree that was somewhat refreshing.

You nearly choked on your drink when Malina asked you:
"So how long have you two been f**king?"
You: "We're not."
Malina: "Oh"
Malina: "You got a man coming over to your apartment to hook up your Washing machine and you ain't doing nothing with him, Damn"
Malina added: "I got a few things in my apartment that need to be fixed."

You ended up giving Malina your cell phone number and she texted you the next day and then called. She didn't waste anytime and suggested that you and her "hang out." However, she let you know that because she had children in the house she felt funny doing anything while they were home.

That meant going to a hotel (at first you were thinking a "flea bag" place would serve the purpose, but you though better and figured you should step your game up).


And you were glad you did because Malina let you know that she was happy with your choice of rooms, and it showed.
One thing you learned about Malina that night/morning was that whatever problem her and her ex-husband were having it more than likely was not in the bedroom (unless it was because he couldn't keep up with her).
 
You were staying at your sister's house for a week in Queens and started a new routine by riding your bike early in the morning and then coming back to eat breakfast. The neighborhood was pretty quiet so you basically had the streets to yourself, well almost.

One morning you were coming back from a ride and rather than immediately go in the house you decided you would sit just rest a bit near your sister car (that was parked in front of the house) and lean on your bicycle.

There was a nice cool breeze blowing outside and you were enjoying the fresh air when you saw this nice Mercedes coming towards you. Most would assume you were talking about a car, but actually there was this attractive young lady walking down the street filming herself (you later fond out her name was Mercedes).

She was walking her dog with one hand and filming herself with the other and you'd figure it was in your best interest to at least say "hi" to her. Apparently, while she was recording she was also talking as she filmed so you simply waved at her and she looked over and acknowledged you with a smile.

But Mercedes felt you deserved more than a smile and...



Ok, you made it your business to be out there every morning after that.
 
You were "hanging out" on the avenue talking to some of the fellas before the Knicks vs. Celtics game last night and figured you run upstairs and grab something to eat so that you didn't miss the start of the game.

On you way into the building you ran into Anna Berrios, (Apt. 4B) and after she said "hello" she wanted to know what did you know about DVD/VCR machines?

You told her that you had owned a few over the years and you were "somewhat" knowledgeable with the technology. Anna then went on to explain that she was trying to transfer some tapes to DVD, but didn't know how to do it?

She said that her ex-boyfriend Ramon used to transfer her tapes for her, but she forgot how to do it and she doesn't deal with Ramon anymore. You would see Ramon from time to time and he seemed like a cool guy, but you sort of had a "hi and bye" type of relationship.

Anna wanted to know if you could come by her apartment and teach her how to transfer her tapes to DVD?

Now, you're thinking it's almost 6:53 PM, and she appears to be heading to the store, if she gets back with the next 20 minutes that would give you maybe 30 minutes to teach her and still have time to be home by 8:00 PM (the start of the game).

You gave her your number and asked her to call you when she got back from the store and you would come down and teach her.
Anna called around 7:30 PM and you ran to her apartment and was hoping that she was a quick study.

Just to make sure things would run smoothly you brought down some blank DVD-r and DVD+r for Anna, and a few store purchased VHS tapes. However, you forgot that the transfer is not instant and takes time so you might have to run back to her place to show her how to finalize the DVD.

When you explained this to Anna, she looked disappointed and asked you if you could stay and help talk her through what to do. You told her that you really wanted to see the Basketball game and she went into:

"Just like Ramon, you men are all alike"

Anna was a lot more savvy than you realized because she said "Ok," and then took out a VHS tape to show you and asked you to see if it plays properly and she also placed one of the DVD-r into the machine.

When you pressed play it was a video of Anna and Ramon and your eyes got wide as you looked at the video.

Then Anna said:

"You sure you can't stay here and tell me what to do?"

If you had the ability to go back in time and meet your past self you would have warned you to stay away from Rosanna Tejada. After all she smoked, drank and "hung out" with a bunch of men that practically lived in the corner bodega, and if you considered the totality of the aforementioned factors you should have run, not walked, but ran in the opposite direction.

And yet, your brain seemed to take a vacation when it came to Rosanna probably when you first made eye contact with her as you were paying for a few items at the counter. Rosanna could see in your eyes that you were instantly attracted to her and she made it her business to play on that by grabbing a bottle of "Corona" beer and jumping in front of you at the counter while backing her ass into your groin (it was like she was giving you a standing lap dance).

Maybe it was the attention she was giving you at that moment, but you couldn't get that incident out of your mind and from that point you started to pursue her against your better judgement.

Then there was the sex, and the question with Rosanna was "What won't she do?" After dealing with a few women that had limitations on their "so called freak" level this was refreshing.



The only problem was from time to time you would question was your relationship with Rosanna an "exclusive one?" Because she never stopped "hanging out" with the guys outside the bodega, and although no one every disrespected you the thought of her cheating on you lingered.




It took some time but finally your insecurity got the best of you and you decided to move on from Rosanna.

At least until next month.
 
Angel Mendoza was truly diabolical, but in a good way. She just knew how to get what she wanted, if you weren't paying attention her methods would go over your head.

You had planned on going to the movies this weekend to see "Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning," and probably grab some pizza or something light to eat (to be honest, Angel said it didn't matter where she went to eat as long as she didn't have to cook that night).

Keep in mind this is your first date and you've been very respectful, although, Angel is very good at flirting and has put out enough "innuendos" to keep you wondering how the evening might end when you do go out.

It's only Tuesday morning and she wants you to think about her and sends you text messages like this...



It's not like you're forced to, but you're considering upgrading from pizza to "Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse."
