Biden's Sec of Defense Lloyd Austin...First Black Man To Hold Position

I'm kinda mixed on this because on one hand I'm happy for the brotha, but on the other hand he's going to have his work cut out for him and i'm kinda cautious on a former general being secdef...w

All that being said, hope he excels and does great!
You should have your work cut out for you. This is why you want the job.
I have been ecstatic about this choice since I read about it about 4 or 5
hours ago. This man is going to shine

Have you served in the US Military??
Nope. I was raised by a brother who was a colonel in the army. I wanted to join as an officer
cadet, and he said "No, there are already too many soldiers in this family"

Through him, .....reading and studying military history, I came to acquire a deep love and
respect for men in uniform.

I was talking to my brother recently, when I reminded me of what he always told me "The
army is like auto insurance- you think it is expensive, incovenient and unnecessary, until
you need it"

My studies of military history started in his many volumes of military literature that I would
immerse myself in during school holidays.

He has not even president for an hour. How can you complain about a short-coming
he has not yet manifested?

I bet you are less than 20 years old, so let me educate you on how it used to be:
Ron Brown was one of the brilliant tacticians who schemed the political campaigns of
Jesse Jackson. In the 1992 elections, despondency had set into the Democratic pysche
as far as presidential elections were concerned. Republicans had crushed the Democrats
in all the elections since 1968. The only interregnum was the brief 4 year presidency of
Jimmy Carter. At the outset, the Democrats looked destined to lose, as the Republicans
candidate was the incumbent George Bush. President Bush had just been victorious in the
highly popular and sensationally successful Gulf War. He was veteran war hero of WW 2
in which had been shot down as a Navy pilot by the Japanese over the pacific ocean. As
if all of this was not enough, he was a highly regarded former congressman and chief of
the CIA.

Ron Brown assumed leadership of the DNC and was with the spoiling candidacy of Ross
Perot, responsible in scheming Clinton to an unexpected win in the General Elections.
Naturally, Ron Brown felt entitled to be nominated Secretary of State, but No, those
positions were reserved for white men. Ron was in stead rewarded the relatively minor
position of Commerce Secretary, whose obscurity was only eclipsed by the manner in
which he died- by suspiciously crashing into a Yugoslav mountain, in a US government
plane, while on US government duty...

So bro, this is not a minor development. Defense Secretary is an extremely powerful
position. This guy will be in charge of one the largest parts of the US budget, and will
be in charge of several million men and women.

How do you know this? He is a soldier, commanded by civilians. His job is to
fight where ever they send him. Full stop.
Aye mayne.... not even gonna lie I almost cursed you out but on a level you sound like these CACs:

Remind me of how the Hague treated that defense?

This is liberation to the Democratoc Voteps. This is what they got for the vote. Fuck a stimulus. :roflmao:

Trump hires Ben Carson, Biden hires this guy. Both parties the same and both parties filled to the brim with coons that make excuses for their sorry white leadership.

Mofos are really still championing identity politics in 2020. Shit is sad. :smh:

Is this cat unqualified?
For what? To bring misery and terror to foreign far off places? What was Obama's signature foreign policy/diplomacy knock since we big uppin his tenure under Obama? Oh that's right, drone striking children and civies.

Let me ask ya'll this: what is his agenda? Is he in charge or is he just in management?

You can't even compare the two appointees. Ben Coonson was not qualified for his job. That's the reason he was appointed. Trump hates HUD and other federal agencies and crippled them as much as he could. By putting unqualified people in charge like Coonson @ Hud & Bitchy Devoid @ Department of Education he knew his fuckery would be carried out without question.

Is this cat unqualified?

He may be qualified due to various positions he has held in military leadership but what is his ideology?

Is he a hawk? Will he be a proponent of the military-industrial complex. Will he be a rubber stamp?

Will he be status quo? Will he be a stooge for Israel?

Will he get a free pass simply because he is black?

or he is a new direction and really offer diversity in the cabinet as opposed to an illusion of diversity.

Ok so i have you down for bloodless military action. Either accounting for or removing your clear bias, is there a realistic template for this? An example of a superpower in charge of world policing that never requires force?

Because i think you're engaging in that dreaming and complaining shit that serves your personal vision but does not reflect real world applications.

Reasonable questions. I'll wait or look for answers before I assign negatives to him just right out of hand.

The fact that you have to ask rather than a reputation for these preceding him is a point in his favor that should at least buy him a fair assessment.

I'll wait as well but Bidens preceding appointments don't bode well. He is picking a career democratic people sprinkled with some race and gender optics that are safe to the status quo

What makes his diversity pics optics and not genuine in your opinion?

The idea of picking "career" people for posts being bad always kinda tripped me out. I wouldn't pick a nigga w no experience to detail my car.

Career politicians don't change anything...You don't have to be career politician to have expertise in an area.

Many of his picks and proposed picks have histories that I don't think are good. For example, sending out fellers to see if they could resurrect Rahm ass a transportation secretary to me is a slap in the face to the black folks who voted for him..

I also posted a story in regards to the interior secretary where a Native American congresswoman has overwhelming support but Biden's people are promoting a Native American man whose own tribe supports the woman. He wants to be able to say look a Native American but the one being proposed is pro corporations and not pro-public land management.

So optics is nominating a gender, ethnicity or race for the sake of saying see the look I picked 3 women 3 Hispanics, and 3 black people

I agree fucking w Rahm was some bs

I don't think the situation w the two natives is enough to paint the rest of his diversity picks w that brush

Sometimes politics yields picks for reasons other than popularity

Biden has had a more centrist approach historically, so him having some establishment picks shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. As long as it's not pervasive enough to be read as the harbinger of all policy to come, I'ma give it a chance. I start from "I don't trust none of these muhfuckas" though.

I agree.

But his past with and prior to Obama is exactly what bothers me with him.

I will wait and see but am watching closely to see if his campaign was promises he tries to keep or rhetoric he used to get votes

These miserable ass faggots won’t be happy until Umar is president begging niggas for money to paint the White House Black.

Too many of you peeps have such a paucity of historical knowledge regarding cac hardcore republiklans ; they were against Colin Powell.
Former Nixon junta's Secretary of Agriculture Earl Butz said the following about Black people:
News outlets revealed a racist remark he made in front of entertainers Pat Boone and Sonny Bono and former White House counsel John Dean while aboard a commercial flight to California following the 1976 Republican National Convention. The October 18, 1976 issue of Time reported the comment -
Butz started by telling a dirty joke involving intercourse between a dog and a skunk. When the conversation turned to politics, Boone, a right-wing Republican, asked Butz why the party of Lincoln was not able to attract more blacks. The Secretary responded with a line so obscene and insulting to blacks that it forced him out of the Cabinet and jolted the entire Ford camarilla. Butz said: "I'll tell you what the coloreds want. It's three things: first, a tight pussy; second, loose shoes; and third, a warm place to shit."

He was a recent former US CENTCOM CINC.

I think that played a big part of his selection.

Something must be going on in the MidEast where they need somebody with extensive experiences in the MidEast to clean up or take care of whatever Trump ignored during his 4 years.

Trump allowed Turkey to go in and fuck with the Kurds. Syria is still a mess with the Russians running around and Yemen is still hot with Trump allowing Saudi Arabia to do whatever they want.

And there might be some shit going on in Iraq and Afghanistan that we are not hearing about, Along with Iran and with them fucking around with Nukes.

Black folks are the casualties of that kind of "warfare" domestically. But you know what, CAC were just protecting their way of life when they bombed Tulsa. Totally justifiable and acceptable. Isreal is right on target too... should I keep building the list?

Explane...I gots to know what you tied of... Kinsfolk
A lot of people are so quick to rejoice when they see and read about " the president just elect the first black men, the first female"
Don't get me wrong but what are those things going to help the black people in America! The same gov / dept is shooting and killing blacks

I'm not surprised about Gen. McCaffery fawning all over Austin and I think it's going to be a fight to get him through. I don't know much about Flournoy (who Bennett mentions towards the end of the clip) but if Dems vote against Austin because she wasn't nominated, they can kick rocks. I still have my doubts about him because it has to be extremely difficult to be objective after 40 years in the military.
