Bgol writers - read the most harshest book review ever.

This shit was too funny.

What that reviewer is claiming Roth did not do, is the reason why I never finished my Wednesday project. I couldn't find the research I wanted to make sense with I had in my head.

But I digress.

Dude was buying tampons? Horrible? No thought? Reads like a rough draft? I would have never expected something that has the following that this has to be a review this bad. But why would you start something and not leave it open for a later explanation? Why not actually take the time to create or research what you need to make something sound cohesive? And the nerve to criticize someone else then to go off like "You didn't do it, I'll do it and show you how it's done".

I can't.

I'm afraid to read these books. Especially if I am going to be that disappointed in the end. Ridiculous is what this is. Not just the books, all of it. Make something for young adults and you get a movie. Doesn't matter if it's good or average, it's like Oprah day at Barnes and Noble. People are making this shit seem easy; writing is a glorified occupation these days. No longer is it the career of thinking men and women with thoughts and feeling they want to share, (or in the case of one of my favorites actual stories and culture), it's the movement of the day for those who can dish out a few thousand words over a weekend that has just enough "he loves me, he loves me not" to make a few girls swoon.

I used to want to write, to be a writer, to have that life to travel and use those experiences to make good works. Not anymore. I can pick up some half-assed statement from the internet, write a few schlubs, and wait for my phone call. This...is not writing. It's not using your brain, it's not eloquent, or moving, or even fun. Reading is becoming tiresome unless you want to watch the movie.

that last statement, reading is becoming tiresome unless you can watch the movie.I would call it if I wasn't on my phone. I don't know, I am very creative, and have a very creative mind. I still hope to write the Great American Novel with the amazing thoughts that pass through my mind. I have been able to captivate audiences with my short stories, and now attempt to do it on a grander scale even though the art seems to be past its time.

yes, I know that the world does not have the attention span for more than 140 characters, they don't want to see a hundred forty characters that may be in a book. I get that. But, with writing I believe I have a lot to offer and, sadly I can't give up on that.

I know some schlub with a laptop and a blog could gain more attention from slamming my novel and would have no reason to do it other than simply to do it. I get that, I just can't believe that I live in that kind of world if I'm going to continue to do what I'm doing which is producing a great novel

I'm not saying it can't be done - hopefully I can be like you one day.

However, that is how I feel about the current landscape as it pertains to these movies. And then it's the same type of books that make the same type of movies. I already feel some type of way bout "urban fiction" and now this. It's just tiresome knowing that any 'good' novel you pick up has the potential to be a let down for all the wrong reasons and not the right ones out of creativity and just the trying of it all. I'd actually feel better if the effort was there, but it just appears as if it's not. THAT is what gets me.

By the time we as a society get back to good writing, we'll be waiting for the next literary renaissance.

hahahaha, I totally feel you. Before I got into writing I was heavy into singing as you've seen the YouTube videos I have posted. actual talented musician ship started to dwindle at the end of the 90s, R&B combined with rap around the early 2000's and then it disappeared from the radio waves except for the pop tunes for the rest of the decade on to today. people still sing, it's just that real singers don't get heard, and the singers adapt by creating half-hearted music.

I personally named it the disco era. When the disco era arrived just before 75, actual talent winner out the window and the beat of the song was all that was considered. You could actually write a song 'I slapped my mama, and threw her down the stairs', and if it had a good beat no one would even hear the lyrics. I had a friend actually listen to the lyrics of truffle butter yesterday after having it on her iPod f weeks and now she is disgusted. now she thinks about what her kids are listening to. how long did Skeet Skeet Skeet play on the radio before people recognized it?

we are headed to the same place in literature. the Twilight series was an example of simplistic horrible writing with a tween target bass which was rode like a horse to the finish line. the writer was trying to get paid, not trying to create the next literary masterpiece. she had probably tried to write a great book before and was slammed. so she put in a half assed effort, compiled a book and it was held by the tween people and she achieved fame and fortune. maybe she figured, why do all that hard work?

many of these new era tween book series like Twilight, divergent, Maze Runner and such were created the same way. a little heart, a little effort because why I work so hard if the public is going to be satisfied with half ass work? nope, I can't go for that. No can do. (Thanks Hall & Oates)

I'm going to bust my creative ass and hopefully create some hellified shit that people are going to either love or hate, but I'm going to look at my shit and know that I busted my ass because I respect the art too much to accept a paycheck for shit work.

I say keep on. MAYBE something will wake some people up to some fruitful things. At some point, something has to give.

Speaking of Twilight...I was just having this conversation yesterday that at least the movies...Cinema Sins compiled 25 minutes worth of stares from them. I had to ask how bad are the books?

One more thing...
...truffle butter? A song? The hell?

funny, I thought the second disco stage would only last a short time, but it has lasted from the end of the Master P era onto Lil Wayne and his crew and then YoungMoney. They killed r&b - when was the last time you've heard a love song on the radio? if you hear it, it's buried on a CD that nobody bought.

As far as Twilight, I enjoy fantasy movies enough to look past the horrid acting and poor writing. My ex and I use to enjoy those together. I listen to them on audio book on the way to work so they weren't too bad... Although the second book was horrid for more than a hundred pages of her languishing after Edward left I almost turned off the audio book. it was hard to get through at times with both the book and the movie, but I enjoyed the concept

Nicki Minaj put out this song, totally ridiculous. Only Drake and Lil Wayne had vs pertaining to that topic. it is a shame to watch Nicki Minaj and her talent languish on that label. She is the epitome of selling her soul to sell some records. She's talented but no one will ever know how much because of her association with Lil Wayne and his nonsense trash

I hope to one day capture the Brilliance that Joan Didion did with her writing. The art of grabbing hold of someone, getting in to see your vision, and having them scarf it down like a starving person on Thanksgiving at a feast.

Early next year I will publish Side Piece: Naughty Nurse Chronicles Volume 1 by Ty Robertson

Wish me luck
