i agree but i'm still cute

lol

but nah seriously..i agree w/ her on the point of getting serious so you will be taken seriously

and yes, some words and phrases are used to infantize women...very true

She right. You can be cute when you are out on the town with the girls. You can be sexy and flirty and all that other shit then too.

If you want to be taken serious in ANY OTHER SETTING then you got to check that shit at the door. :hmm:

But please ladies don't over do it. Don't be non-cute to your family and freinds either. I know you know them types of ladies. The ones who just can't seem to turn that work shit off. :smh:

True! I got a couple of them for real. Or they want to start analyzing and shit at family bar-b-ques when you drunk and trying to play cards. Be like..."See this is why we failing as a country. Black men gambling their money away and drinking instead of blah blah blah." It's a BARBQUE!!! Go sit your ass down and grab some pork and shut the hell up!

Ok I had a flashback right then! :roflmao:

For the first time in my life, on the job last week, I started to turn the cute off and really step up and be a bit assertive. I'm one who has always been wary of being assertive, so as not to come off as a "disagreeable person" a.k.a. a "bitch." Also, I don't like confrontation, so I'd figure I'd just keep my mouth shut on certain matters.

However, I've come to realize that my education and past experience HAS made me an expert on some things, and I finally spoke up about it. Not only did it make me feel good, but I also felt smart and damn sexy...

One thing that I do think that plagues me, physically, with the getting over being cute is my short stature and youthful looks. I dress professionally, though, and try to, in professional settings, play down the youthfulness of my appearance, but it sucks to have to play "dress up," I feel, just so that others can take me seriously...

I don't think this is a problem for men
but I have known females that were labeled as a bitch, simply because they had an opinion.
in the long run though, you gotta be happy doing you.

If you are truly trying to assert yourself then it won't matter how much you "speak" up about something if you have the idea in your mind that your stature is an issue.
You NEED to carry yourself assertively as well. Its called confidence. You need that in order to have people look past you being a short person.
In other words stand "tall" and you won't have to worry about playing dress up.

Peace

Seriously though, I agree. Dudes that fret over assertive women usually have insecurity issues.
A woman that can hold her own in this context, without coming off as "bitchy", is a fucking turn-on.

convo-grown ...

aww she made her cry...lol

true story...im sick of grown women trying to be cute....expecially when they try to do that baby talk voice...omg i cant stand it
