Re: GQing yourself

Like the old man Hat..got something like that but smaller. Older folks that still look smart are really cool

FathersdayHarlem.jpg

Not sure about this old man's hat though but he still look elegant in his suit

Re: GQing yourself

Not feeling Kanyes dress sense but cant fault his ex girlfreind...here
kanyewest2.jpg

some serious suit

MoPRed2.jpg

Perfect fit on the jacket. Notice the hand-rolled edges on the pocket square - that's the only way to do it!!

Etrosuitfull.jpg

Now this Brotha has some serious shit...

Etrosuitclose.jpg

he is wearing a french-cuff, that is why there is a gentle roll to the cuff edge.
Etrosuitcuff.jpg

not sure about the watch. I think it is a nice detail. Depending on the watch it is a show of style. As The guy a little further down in black and half torn shoes (typical advertiser or media, or fashion guy) would use his phone or in my opinion a classic black Swatch with white dials.A rolex or Omega to this works well as it does show that class you want to show with wearing this type of suit.
Mar061.jpg

These sisters have both, individualy, put together outfits that are completely coherent, with each part hitting a similar note - but yet they feel no need to look at all like each other, which is the most awesome part about it.Hope NGOL sisters are taking some notes

This brother would fit perfectly well if he gets invited to have lunch with Prince Charles or any of the Windsors

Streetvendor.jpg

This brother is a street vendor with a touch of style

VaccaD1.jpg

KitonN.jpg

Italian suit..like the shirt though

well you know who the target here is

Re: GQing yourself

MoryGreyBlue.jpg

Lets face it this brotha is sharp. He is clearly expressing himself through the use of bold colours and a dramatic fit! Thumbs up from me overall.
MoryGreyBlueClose.jpg

The suit looks like and Eredi Pisano suit. It is a typical Itialian cut. Mory's frame add's to the striking look; especially around the waist.

Sixth-Ave.jpg

Not sure about this brothas chain wallet though

Liya.jpg

And this is LIYA KIBEDE from ETHIOPIA, the gorgeaous model. She always looks relaxed and totally elegant at the same time.

She's touched all the trends in one outfit and it doesn't look like she's trying too hard!
That's a feat in and of itself!

JScuff.3.jpg

Been lucky to have women buy me cuff links

Nana.jpg

This is NANA BOATENG..OZWALDS cousinThis NORTH LONDON brotha looks fresh and amazing in every way: from the fab zoot-suit-y green jacket to those marvelous yellow shoes and a classic white shirt!
It's great to see color worn in such an upbeat, self assured, original way. It looks very new.

EVERTHING SEEMS TP BE PERFECT EXCEPT THE RED THING...maybe because red isnt my fav color

Mory-%26-Nana.jpg

NANA and MORI KABA
Both Fly & what a dapper!

Jeans-and-Jacket.jpg

This Brotha looks like brothers you would normally see in Paris. Some might disagree but i kinda feel he looks cool especially like the baseball cap because it shows that he is not taking it all too seriously. I think this brotha has great personal style.

That 'storage' presentation is just exquisite. I love the contrasting colours, rolled up sleeves on the hanging shirts, and ties peeking out from the shoes.

I love the way the diagonal stripes on his tie shadow the diagonal stripes in his hair

Re: GQing yourself

dress code: 101
no gaps in collar, collar should be snug against neck but not cutting off circulation.

Tie should becentered and neatly knotted. tie tip should end at the bottom of your belt, not at your crotch nor your belly button. tie should have no wrinkles.
belt should match shoes and watch strap if fabric or leather.

socks shold match shoes or be in the family color (ex dark brown - dark dark brown)

pants should not sag on hips or waist. Pleat should fall no less than 1 to 2 inches from the bottom of your shoe (no highwaters). front crease should fall over shoes one and not be baggy at the bottom. front of pants should not be baggy if you have pleats in your pants. pleats should be smooth laying down against itself. do not put anything into your pant pockets that creat a bulge or point. leave the wallets for the chest pockets of your suit or overcoat. crotch should be right below your balls not 5 inches lower or too tight so that when you sit down people can see your dick and balls. when you sit down, no pants should be so tight that the fabric on your thigh can be picked up by your two fingers.

shirt sleeves should be at the first knuckle on your thumb and should be exposed at least 1/2 inchfrom your suit jacket. shirt should not be baggy and puffed out around your waist. if you must fold it up, fold it in the back and keep it smooth across the front of your pants. collar should always be closed unless coming off of work.looks shitty with a loose tie and open collar. never combine two different styles( ex. herribone design shirt and plaid tie)

suit jacket should be flat on the chest plate. suit should always be 1 size bigger than the shirt to allow room to move and reach. no stress marks verticle or horizontal, no pulling of fabric should be visible when standing straight with arms at side in suit jacket. always leave the last button on the bottom unbutton. (ex. 5 button, button 4, 4 button, button 3, 3 button, button 2)

shoes should not be worn and fucked up. always shiny and non scuffed. shoelaces replace when worn or discolored.

Re: GQing yourself

Good post bro! Keep em coming (nohomo).

Been wanting to add some flare to my dress code for a while. I see a few fits I'll rock.

Props

This Girl is soooo getting away with this look. Big Hair.... Small clothes.

So-Right.jpg

You could plunk this woman down in any major capital - London, Beijing, Paris, (NYC), L.A....she would look great, anywhere.

the sista looks like Alek wek from Sudan but not sure

photo prove that proper dressing is less about pricey labels and such, and more about self-esteem. I was struck not by the suit, which is nonetheless lovely on him, but by that amazing face and the inherent dignity in his posture. Simply amazing.
Nolita-Dress.jpg

I like this 'tropical holiday without leaving the city' look - even the fruit juice goes nicely.
blazerWestV.jpg

Everything but the shoes... they ruin the outfit. Great crisp white shirt though...

Prince.jpg

Okay, are those leggings or footless tights? I'm not happy that either are back in fashion...but the rest of her looks fabulous.

Morycolor.jpg

Brother MORI is fly as usual...he's looking dapper as usual. i love the way the jacket fits him.The only thing i disagree with is the necktie--it doesn't go well with the rest of the outfit.
African.jpg

It's good to see an image of a mature, fuller woman, inEastern-inspired dress presented as beautiful. She embodies style.

She is just exuding with originality, and its actually working. Not liking the sandals, though.

Esqpart.jpg

The fit of his suit and his general color scheme are excellent. Its hard to tell that he's wearing a vest in this picture, perhaps if it were a lighter brown... but thats just a miniscule criticism of mine, it doesnt detract at all from his ensemble. Perfect.

Veronica Webb...When a womans legs look good after forty, they look good forever. Love the skirt and footwear, the marni jacket finishes well.BGOL sisters..take a note

What you Brothers think about these. I bought these like 4-5 Years ago and never wore them.

Any suggestions on a fit to rock with these. Slacks and a button up shirt??

They are casual shoes so the best way to rock them any of these shirts
BorLinShrt.jpg

with some brown khaki shorts ..that would do but they are not the type of shoes you wanna wear to work because they embellish any shorts..... they even make the cargo pants look OK --- almost

I must admit that never in my life had I thought I'd see someone so effectively pull off wearing a brown, 70s polyester suit...

JMen.jpg

She has the happy confidence of one who knows she looks great.

Navy%26bike.jpg

love everything about her! i love the contrast of masculine and feminine: the very masculine buttondown and the very feminine decollete; the very masculine trouser and the very feminine hips on which they sit; the very very masculine braces and their feminine counterpart on her feet.

i love when something someone wears sends me off to spin stories about who they are and from where they come.

and she looks so beautifully, naturally comfortable in her skin - and thus, beautifully, naturally comfortable in her clothing.

It sucks when old men kick your ass in the fashion sense department.

What can I say, he looks great, a dapper gentleman. Seersucker forever!

Those shits have to be one of the most ugliest fucking pairs of shoes I've ever fucking seen. There's ways to dress casual, tone it down, and still have a unique style, but those shoes aint doing either. keep them in the closet and then maybe one day you can chuck it at the next bitch that cheats on you...

Re: GQing yourself

good shit my dude!!!
i think that i can dress pretty good but i have opened up to some new things from looking at this post....
well gone!

Not only the colors but the whole persona is exquisite. His hair, accessories, gestures achieve a level of harmony that only spells a very interesting personality

Think of ANDRE 3000

the fabric kinda swallows her though

Typical LONDON GIRLThe name plate necklace is very retro/street. Nestling it among ladylike pearls makes for a unique mix. The cartoon-like dress, her expression. She's got the 'tude to pull off this vintage/street/funky look. adorable.

80sgroup.jpg

The fashions of the 80's never should have happened in the first place, but really should not have happened again. I know no one who can look back on pictures from the 80's and think the clothes and hair they were sporting was a flattering look unlike people I know who were alive in other decades such as the 60's, 70's, and some of the 90's. I don't think this is people doing their own thing by wearing these throwbacks to a decade gone-wrong. They are just doing what people did 20 years ago and I see no modern twists on the clothes of today.

What I don't understand is why so many people jump on the fashion bandwagon when they look like hell in what's "in." Sometimes what's in the fashion magazines is exactly what you don't want to be seen in.

Re: GQing yourself

I'm finding that most of the men's stuff you're posting is feminine to me. I think it's the cuts of the jackets and possibly the slacks...

He looks very elegant; to me, his backpack is a symbol of autonomy and self-assurance: he knows exactly what he wants and needs and where he's going, and in this peaceful state of mind he can carry his few necessities on his back, like a monk.
