BGOL review .. BATMAN V SUPERMAN... (thoughts, summary, spoilers)

Yeah.. who.. from bgol.

I wanted to get some of the bgol members to be on a podcast

one on comic books and comic movies like fatman on batman (you would be VERY welcome)

and a more cultural pop media news tv movie internet

and another on sports and culture.

but the issue is maintaining some anonymity because of potential ocking.

but to be real I don't see that happening

since there are literally hundreds of podcasts and we could have members doing my idea right a this moment and we would NEVER know unless they told you.

Only difference is I would be SUGGESTING our podcast to the board

so I guess it wouldn't be hard to guess what is what.

All that's cool but does nothing to address the WTF of his pops appearing on the mountain. And the old natives at the foot of the mountain saying he was going up to die made it more confusing. The reasons why he went up there that you addressed were never unclear to me, even in the theatrical cut.

Oh don't get it twisted... the Pops still makes zero sense.

The movie is still flawed as shit... but it at least feels like a movie now.

Ok. I meant WHO... like... who from the board. But i mean nobody who's got anything to lose or doesn't protect themselves very well....can or would be willing to do this. I can't see any of these people outside of 1-2 would be willing to do this. Somebody's going to trying to get someone else because they don't agree with them. You have a very....................................................................................i don't know view of the board. Most of these dudes are beasts who's only drive, ever... is to see vagina. And insult 1 another.

Who would be in it just for the love of the genre? Is my statement i guess.

Image like a screen cut into 4 squares and some lucha libre masks!!!!

Or

debate desk ,the masks and the names are the screen names but we NEVER address the masks

ever.

And just have a serious debate

and mention Tical in complete disdain at various points like he was our evil former member...

"When I saw that fight scene it was horrible just terrible, may Tical's eyes be DAMNED!!!"

Or

use that bane voice modulator to give reviews

Like a real life version of this

A question before I watch the "ultimate" cut...

How/when did Clark figure out Bruce Wayne was Batman? I never saw him use his x-Ray vision or do any investigative reporting. Yet before the fight he yells out "Bruce".

Finally watched it. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and even though the move is 3 hours it didn't feel like 3 hours, I was kinda annoyed how every other scene was a slow motion scene, even the bullets leaving the chamber of a gun had its own slow motion scene, and seriously how many fucking times is superman going to die? Also Superman fucking saved the world from being destroyed and Bruce Wayne wants to kill him for blowing up his corporate office? Lets not even talk about the alien ship that was not taken a part by the US government and scientists for all its technology, yet they just had it sitting around doing nothing. And the worst plot of all is you have these mercenaries using Louis Voutton name brand bullets that can be traced back to them instead of using old fashion regular bullets. All and all the plot was garbage but I enjoyed except for Lex Luthor and Doomsday.

One last thing, the fucking ending, so the Prison warden let Batman the criminal inside the prison to see Lex? Did Batman ask them to flicker the lights for him so he could make a cool entrance too?

Here's a Deeply Upsetting Rumor About the Next Batman Movie

American Psycho
author Bret Easton Ellis is sitting at dinner with some movie executives. They say they know some other executives working on Ben Affleck’s upcoming Batman movie. And they tell Ellis something that should chill the heart of not just superhero fans, but fans of movies, period.

Now, a caveat before you read this: It’s third-hand story—from movie executives who told other movie executives who told Ellis who told The Ringerduring an interview. We also have no idea who any of these executives are, or if any of them are in a position to truly know this information. On the other hand, there is no obvious reason for Ellis to lie about this.

With that warning out of the way, here is what Ellis said during a larger story about the movie industry:

I was having dinner with a couple of executives who know other executives who are working on the [forthcoming] Batman movie, The Batman. And they were just telling me that there are serious problems with the script. And that the executives I was having dinner with were complaining about people who work on the Batman movie. And they just said they went to the studio and they said, ‘Look, the script is … Here’s 30 things that are wrong with it that we can fix.’ And [the executives] said, ‘We don’t care. We don’t really care. The amount of money we’re going to make globally, I mean 70 percent of our audience is not going to be seeing this in English. And it doesn’t really matter, these things that you’re bringing up about the flaws of the script.’ So I do think global concerns play a big part in how movies, and what movies, are being made, obviously.

We reached out to Warner Bros. for comment but have not yet heard back as of publication. But it’s certainly true that we’re well past the point where Hollywood makes movies just for the U.S.

Look at a movie like Warcraft. Not a Warner Bros. movie but in the U.S. it grossed $47 million. Overseas, it grossed $386 million, almost ten times as much. Terminator: Genisys did almost $90 million in the U.S. and $350 million internationally. And those are the bad movies. Good movies can even more shocking; Furious 7 made $800 million more overseas than in the U.S., while Avatar made over $1 billion more.

As for the DC movies, the difference is a little less eye-popping, but still significant. Batman v Superman made over $200 million more internationally than the U.S.; Suicide Squad has made well over $100 million more and counting. That means Warner Bros. could have only released those movies overseas and still been relatively happy with the grosses.

From a financial standpoint, it makes sense, but it is infinitely disheartening to imagine Warner Bros. deciding a coherent script isn’t necessary to make the film. So I guess if we get to the release of Ben Affleck’s Batman movie and has the same plot problems (and/or critical reception) as Suicide Squad or Batman v Superman, we know where to point the fingers.

So basically they don't give a fuck! They're getting that Chinese money!! Still, don't foreign audiences want to see quality movies as well?

The Chinese pretty much control Hollywood now, Hollywood won't even put any Chinese stereotypes in their movies anymore or the Chinese government won't allow it in theatres over there.

I totally believe this.

IMO WB is like the repugs in the 2 party system. All they care about is the bottom line and staying on top. They have a fan/constituent base that swallows any bullshit lame nominee or candidate that they trot out and than said fan base makes constant excuses to try and polish the shit turd movie/candidate that they put out.

Just like you see dumb ass repugs trying to say trump is a business man and will fix problems (despite going bankrupt numerous times and losing a $$$billion$$$ in 1 year) you had people trying to wax poetic about bullshit deeper meaning in weak and flimsy scripts and trying to breath extra life into the bullshit rooftop scene as greater than it really is.

And behind it all is a leadership group that doesn't give 2 fucks about its fan base or their expectations for the end product.

:smh:

You should know by now that most of the job making decisions is done by congress and your local government. Don't be buying into all the election hype.

ton of executive branch appointments - majority do not require congressional approval
foreign policy is almost exclusively executive - thats what many were talking about with Bush Jr n Obama

further proof that DC/WB Zack snyder are all IDIOTS and CLUELESS!!!!!!

The DC Villain Jason Momoa Thought Zack Snyder Would Ask Him To Play

Lots of people were more than a little surprised when Jason Momoa was cast as Aquaman for Justice League. However, nobody was as surprised as the actor himself. Apparently, when Momoa was called in to meet with Zack Snyder for the first time, he thought he had no idea what role he was being considered for, but assumed it would be some sort of villain character.

There were a lot of things that went through my mind. I was thinking like, 'Lobo.' I'm gonna play some kind of bad guy. I'm like, 'Who am I gonna play?' And yeah, he said Aquaman. I was just like, 'Come again? Pardon me?' And then he explained why. I was like, 'Whoa, buddy. I got your back.'

It's not too surprising to hear Jason Momoa tell ET Canada that he thought he would be considered for a role like the intergalactic bounty hunter/hell-raiser Lobo. To start with, the two share significantly more physical characteristics than Momoa does with the more traditional look of Aquaman. While Aquaman has been known to grow facial hair now and again, he's traditionally seen as a clean-cut blonde guy, a far cry from the look that we all know from seeing Momoa as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones. It would seem that when Snyder explained his vision of the sort of character that the Justice League version of Aquaman would be, Momoa jumped on board.

The Aquaman that we've seen as part of the first trailer for Justice League shows a man with a much rougher edge to him than we usually see. He appears to drink a bit and he comes close to beating the crap out of Bruce Wayne. Now that we know exactly what Zack Snyder was thinking, we can completely understand what he as thinking with his casting choice.

Of course, casting Jason Momoa as Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe means he's pretty much unavailable when and if a Lobo movie ever makes its way to the screen. There have been repeate attempts to do so over the last few years. Jason Fuchs is reportedly working on a new script for the project but that's all we really know about the current attempt. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was previously attached to a Lobo movie but that idea appears to be dead, as The Rock will be playing Black Adam in a Shazam movie at some point.

sitting here watching this shit again with my girl, her first time seeing it. this shit is horrible. I'm only ten minutes and i can't take it. I'm just waiting for Flash to start.

1st ten minutes of crap:
Dude stays in the building for no reason
showing how Bruces parents died...again
How they found the Kryptonite.

Quite possibly the worse superhero movie of the 2000s. All three Fantastic Fours were better than this crap.

I was telling my friend this last night after watching it again on HBO

watch it again - i dare you

lots of decent/good movies I'll never rewatch...it's not bcuz they're worse than FF movies tho :dunno: truth be told off the top of my head the only superhero movies I can recall watching more than once offhand are watchmen and batman begins...I'm watch civil war again too...I think I've watched the first tobey mcguire spiderman a couple times as well

Ironically... I saw this again and I enjoyed it more.
to each their own...

this time around I decided to ignore the editing, I wanted to enjoy some parts of the movie...
but then the dialogue and score started pissing me off

the execs at WB and Snyder need to feel real repercussions over this movie

Every movie has its issues. I think the main issue is that it is very bleak. As a superhero film especially that of Superman people most likely want that light-hearted feeling to it, but I see these films as '"what would it be like if the this was real?" it tries to address those themes, but I just don't think the public wants it or will be able to appreciate it now. For me, it is typical of a Zack Snyder film. I didn't like Watchmen the first time around.
