I mean, if you think he should've let Lewis get past, then you have to agree with the penalty then. Letting Lewis pass is more if he gained a position by cutting a chicane. It's a pretty grey area on this one I think. But at the end of the day, like I said before, Vettel ultimately screwed his own race. Lewis applied the pressure and he crumbled like he always does. Not a Vettel fan but a 5 second penalty? He loss control, slowing or stop on the grass would have resulted in the car spinning out of control. What Vettel should had done was let Lewis take the lead once he regained control.

I doubt he would've gotten past Lewis again, even with the straightline speed.Letting Lewis pass is different than a 5 second penalty, a driver will still have the opportunity to regain the lead and keep the race competitive.

Yeah, that's par for the course with Vettel. If he has Lewis on his ass, he goes into straight panic mode and Lewis doesn't have to do much. Liberty was supposed to have the 2021 rules signed off this month, but they keep letting the teams play these games and delaying shit. I like the fact that they do research and consult with the teams first, but they gotta take page out of Bernie's book and just do the shit. Trying talking fine detail at this point will only be cause for teams trying to cut off the competition balls to their benefit. That all do it, so you gotta take matters into your own hand at some point and solidify the rules.Sooooooooooooooooooooooo
Vettel continues to make mistakes under pressure. What's it been, like 2 years now?
The Ferrari International Assistance, er...sorry, The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile is finally showing some balls. Fuck Ferrari, they never cried when they were getting all the calls, or non-calls. And that shit went on for decades.
As expected the Horses found pace from somewhere. Now it's up to the Arrows to follow suit.
Unfortunately, F1 is turning into boredom central. They really need to do something about the formula. I have plenty of suggestions.

Paul Ricard this weekend.
It’s a fast track that doesn’t overly punish drivers if they go out of track limits since there are no gravel or sand traps.
The real battles will be in F1.5, so I’ll probably focus on this since MB and F are going to be the only two teams dicing up the front, unless a miracle happens for the Renault powered RB or someone flubs a race strategy <cough Ferrari - cough a lot lately>.
By the way, F2 is testing the 18” wheel package which will be adopted by F1 in ‘21, and the cars look sweet
With the addition of FIA GT / WEC announcing the LMP1 class will return to road car, a hyper car homologation based rule set which Toyota, Aston, Glickenhaus have already announced their commitment to compete in (who knows Ferrari may even throw the SF90 into the ring! They haven’t been a part of LMP since the 333Sp), and 2020 is shaping up to be an very interesting year for racing for fans of racing.
Oh yeah, I know. I know because I was supposed to be there. This right here. Unfortunately, F1 is becoming tiresome. I love to see Lewis do well not only because he's black but because he's one of the best drivers I've ever seen. He's always been racy. Always. Plus he's a gentleman driver and doesn't go around wrecking people because he's upset. But as usual, because he's black he doesn't get half as much props as he should.
Anyway, as far as the new LMP, I'm glad to see it. I'd prefer to see Group C again but I guess that'll never happen. Anyway, they had to do something because Toyota was racing against themselves. I have to see what the rule changes bring because the fucking rules are too goddamned complicated. Look what they did to the Ford GT at Le Mans. Not that they shouldn't have been penalized but shouldn't that have been caught in real time? Yeah, I don't trust Ferrari International Assistance. After all, you can't spell fiasco without FIA.
Heist, did you know the Glick SCG 003 is entered in the 24hr Ring? Two days brother. I'll make a thread to remind folks.
Sadly he could win 10x DCs, and whypipol will still scream Senna or Fangio or some other silly nonsense.Wanting to Lewis to win 8 F1 Championships, one more than Michael Schumacher, then he will be THE greatest driver to ever lived on paper.
Oh yeah, I know. I know because I was supposed to be there.
One of my older mentors pals around with Chris Cogan. Told him I used to be active on Rennteam. He told if I can get my flight and visa, they’ve got me covered on a full pass + pits for the race.
Timing was too short. I couldn’t put it all together.

Lewis would already have 7 if McLaren didn't screw him out of at least 2 probably 3 drivers championships.
I don’t know if it was sheer genius or sheer luck, but Lewis left McLaren AND his Father’s management at just the right time.
Oh, it was Lewis all the way. He is a smart dude. Very smart. I was quite frankly surprised. Maybe not book-smart but very clever and wiley. The few times I met him there wasn't much convo, you know, just grin-n-grip. But I listened to him (and other drivers) as they had conversations with themselves or patrons. Tells you a lot.
He definitely knew McLaren was screwing him and had his exit strategy in place. Same with his pops. The British papers covered it much more fully, once you get past all the sensationalism. Pops basically wanted him to take his brother and him along for the ride. Nothing against his brother but we know why that can't happen. Lewis supported him fully but he can't fix the unfixable. And pops was buggin' wanting all types of high-end shit, using Lewis' name without his knowledge, acting like a diva. He had to go.
Hmmm, I wonder why McLaren was screwing him over? He was their prodigy child. Someone who Ron Dennis had groomed and lent support to since before his teens when he was tearing up the karting leagues and was brought to McLaren’s attention.
I remember when Lewis spazzed out and posted a screenshot of the telemetry data from his and Jensen’s session! He claimed Jensen was being given better parts. That nonsense was definitely a full on diva moment and I lost a tiny bit of respect for him. That was like giving Red Bull and Ferrari the password to the account.
But as for his Father, I was never aware of the root cause for the split. I can certainly see his Father looking for some um - recompense - given all he had to sacrifice and endure to get him to the level where legitimate teams would take notice. But I guess he got too greedy. I don’t even seem him in the MB garage or at the races any longer.
