BGOL... I need a desk and chair for cheap

I'm not comfortable sitting, I'm a little overweight but I need a better desk and chair, i went to the library a few times and I was more comfortable there than at home.

What's the ideal height for a desk and what's the ideal width? I got a 32 inch desk at home but it's too uncomfortable.

Help me get something better, chair too...

I'm at the desk most of the day but it's too uncomfortable.

I'm talking thrift shop prices, not trying to even spend 100

There is no ideal height.... everyone is different sizes..... do yourself a favor.... don't go cheap... you don't have to go real expensive, but you're shitting on yourself with dirt cheap shit.... it's your ass sitting there man...just pull the trigger... you'll thank yourself later

I just thought to say that if the library chairs are so comfortable, flip one over and look for the manufacturer..... contact them.... a thrift store would be kinda hit or miss.... he might get lucky though.... quicker way would be to contact the manufacturer or ask the library where they got theirs at.... I learned from experience not to cut myself short and cheap.... just like a mattress you want to be able to sit on it.... see how it feels.... ideally he'd want to sit in that chair he's looking for, for more than a few minutes though

Yeah, they also sell stuff like furniture, and white goods (washers, dryers, and sinks). Also check with your state the usually have a surplus store somewhere that sells stuff from state universities and government.

Find the chair that has highest weight limit within your budget, it'll last longer and can support 2 people.

A desk and chair is an investment in your physical health. You don't have to go super expensive, but you should spend a lil bit. I paid 360 for my desk. It's no longer available, but I'm posting the link so you can see the construction type. You want to get one of the easy assemble ones where the legs just clamp in. I was able to put it together myself, tho it's heavy and best done with two people. If I had to do it all over again, I'd get a longer one or an l shaped one.

I have two monitors on a monitor stand that clamps on and keeps them off the desk. I originally wanted something to hold my tower, but I kept the cabinet from my old desk that it sits in. I ended up buying a filing cabinet tho.

If you aren't in a big hurry, find a couple that you like and add them to your wishlist and keep an eye on them. I've seen prices drop 30-50% or more.

Otherwise, check resale as it was suggested. My previous desk was from Craigslist and served me well for years. I only got the new one because work at home is now permanent and I needed to be able to stand to help my circulation.
