"BGOL debaters get in here" topic "Sasha Fierce Demons"

I watched the five part series on the Beyonce Sasha Fierce Demon possession and to me they raised some very valid questions about the similarities between the “Crazy in Love” & “Diva” videos concerning the rituals of initiation of “selling your soul”.

The fellas and I have been debating this topic for a couple of days now, and came up with a lot more interesting questions concerning this topic.

Has Hip-hop in whole been infiltrated and taken over by the powers that be (you can ad your own ideas on who this might be, Illuminati, Satan, demons, or just plain old evil people running shit)? Thru out time the music that has been associated with having the ear of the masses has been associated with evil and deceitfulness against its listeners. Example, Jazz, Blues, Rock Roll, Pop, and now hip hop.

Now follow me, I’m not going to recant the Beyonce possession video. I suggest you watch it first to understand this, so let’s go. If Jay Z recruited Beyonce as the video suggest then he to at one point would have had to been recruited too. At what point did Jay Z consummate his initiation? My guess would be the “Black Album” notice how the album starts with "December 4th”, a song narrated by his mother explaining how wonderful a son Shawn Carter was. The album ends with "My 1st Song“how do you end an album with my first song?

Just as Beyonce changed into Sasha Fierce, Jay Z also changed into J Hova the God MC. Just a coincidence? If Jay Z recruited Beyonce, did he recruit others? How many rappers ascended to super stardom after Jay Z gave his stamp of approval. Kanye West, T.I remember “Bring Em Out”, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Jim Jones (yes, Jim Jones although not a superstar yet still relevant and got a Jay Z remix for free on “We Fly High” that introduced him to the world)^note^ rappers mentioned are all Jay Z emulators like the girls dancing in the “Crazy in Love” video.
When did Hip Hop first get infiltrated by these people? My guess would be before 2pac died but it could be much later. Let’s go on a hip hop time line. In 1993 Snoop Dogg, Dr DRE affiliate was on trial for his life and made “Murder was the case” a song about selling his soul to the devil for riches and fame. He was subsequently acquitted of all charges and rose to super stardom. In March 1995, Eazy-E checked himself into Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles with what he believed at the time was chronic asthma. Following comprehensive tests, it was discovered that he was suffering from AIDS, and his condition deteriorated rapidly. Was Eazy the first casualty in this war? Did he not want to play ball anymore? We all know Pac had a lot to say about the “powers that be” "illuminati want my mind soul and body" he was gunned down in 1996. The Notorious BIG died in 1997, and Hip Hop as we know it changed forever.

Puffy then drops the album “No way out” was this his initiation? All praises due to the Benjamin’s, or maybe it was a message to us all that there is no way around what’s about to go down. He then goes thru several transformations over the years. Nobody that fuck’s with Puffy prosper. Mase and Loon both went to church.

Dr. Dre recruits the first white face superstar of hip hop “Eminem” which in turn recruit 50 cent. I’m not going to point out all the initiation similarities with all these rappers or singers in our Hip Hop culture, but if you look and research you can find them on your own as I have. All I’m saying is the Beyonce/Sasha Fierce Demon Possession video raised some valid points as to what they are trying to sell us. Is she Demon possessed? Probably not! Is it some shady shit going on? Most Definitely! I don’t know what these people want. It can’t be money, they already have it, if it’s my obedience or my soul they can’t have it simply because its mine!!! I guess the real question is. When the shit goes down which side will you stand on? We all know that’s a question that will have to be answered eventually.

If you notice when the Nas and Jay Z beef was at it's height. Nas started talking about how Jay Z sold his soul then all of a sudden the beef just ended. What did Nas know? Did Nas name his first album on Def Jam "Hip Hop is Dead" because he too finally sold out?

Jayz was calling himself Hova the God before the Black Album

As Beyonce called herself Sasha Fierce before the "I am Sasha Fierce" album. Remember Encore "Hova" "Hova" "Hova" to get him to return to the stage.

Hello fellow bgolers, just had to make a comment on this subject. You are not off the mark, rather you are point Uhsef. Beyonce and others are not the first muscians to approached, recruited, compromised and anointed by the fallen watchers. Robert Johnson a renowned blues guitarist back in the 1920's through the 1930's stated he really couldn't play until he met the "dark man" at the crossroads. Check wikipedia for more information. Now before, I get into the body of my statement, let me say this, i have studied historical, religious texts, and had personal experience with this subject. So be apprised as the naysayers, scoffers say there are no such things as demons, because they are blind. The news is full of mass murderers, serial killers, who operate on a daily basis and usually the statement most make is "voices told them to do this". Demon possession has been well documented over the world, however scientists and physicians say these people are ill. There is a hierarchy of demons and they are rampant and are eager to act even now because thy realize their time is truly running short. There are some reading what i write on this board. They know who they are.

It's not exactly "Hova the God MC." It's Hova, the self proclaimed greatest rapper alive. That and sasha fierce aren't very comparable to me. Greatest rapper alive isn't a character Jay-Z was playing. It was a mixture of him stroking himself and trying to boost his last album's sales (or so it was). Buy my album, i'm the greatest alive and this is my last one-blah. And every person listening to the radio, brushing dirt off their shoulders, ate it up. Sasha fierce comes off as a persona/character or rather a theme for Beyonce's album.

Did those rappers really only come out only after Jay-Z gave them the stamp of approval? I don't see one. T.I. ascended only after bring em out, where he just sampled Jay Z? No. The We Fly High Remix didn't get Jim Jones noticed, if anything it was the original song and while it may have been his biggest song plenty of rap fans knew about him for a long time. While he may of helped a couple (namely Kanye West), that's a bit different. Also, the comment that they're all Jay-Z imitators? I'm not seeing it with any of those names. Pick one of those rappers (like young jeezy) and give reasons why they are, and for the sake of argument all of them.

Very well put. Most cats on here will laugh at this, I do believe there may be some truth, I haven't watched all of them, but I will check them now.

And what exactly did he mean by that, did he elaborate or is that your interpretation based merely off that quote? Given music, entertainment, etc there are plenty of obvious meanings it could take.

This comes off as a lie, or an extreme exaggeration. Do you have any evidence to back this up? Maybe some murderers and serial killers, occasionally make those statements.

Demon possession has been well documented over the world however scientists and physicians say these people are ill.

Where are one of these well documented, proven cases of demonic forces that were just passed or brushed off as mental illness?

Its Just to many coincidences for nothing not to be going on. Those of us that remember Hip Hop before this new age of artist know something is missing.

As i anticipated, here comes one to narrowly pick apart my statements. Obviously, you did not read the wikipedia post so here goes:

Devil legend

According to a legend known to modern Blues fans, Robert Johnson was a young black man living on a plantation in rural Mississippi. Branded with a burning desire to become a great blues musician, he was instructed to take his guitar to a crossroad near Dockery Plantation at midnight. There he was met by a large black man (the Devil) who took the guitar from Johnson and tuned it. After tuning the guitar, the devil played a few songs and then returned it to Johnson, giving him mastery of the guitar. This in effect sold Johnson's soul; and in exchange Robert Johnson became able to play, sing, and create the greatest blues anyone had ever heard.

This legend was developed over time, and has been chronicled by Gayle Dean Wardlow,[19] Edward Komara[20] and Elijah Wald.[21] Folk tales of bargains with the Devil have long existed in African American and White traditions, and were adapted into literature by, amongst others, Washington Irving in "The Devil and Tom Walker" in 1824, and by Stephen Vincent Benet in "The Devil and Daniel Webster" in 1936. In the 1930s the folklorist Harry Middleton Hart recorded many tales of banjo players, fiddlers, card sharps and dice sharks selling their souls at the crossroads, along with guitarists and one accordionist. The folklorist Alan Lomax considered that every African American secular musician was "in the opinion of both himself and his peers, a child of the devil, a consequence of the black view of the European dance embrace as sinful in the extreme".[22]

Point two

Check Son of Sam David Richard Berkowitz (born June 1, 1953), also known as Son of Sam and the .44 Caliber Killer, is an American serial killer and arsonist.

Shortly after his arrest in August 1977, Berkowitz confessed to killing six people and wounding seven others in the course of eight shootings in New York City between 1976 and 1977. He has been imprisoned for the crimes since 1977. His crimes had terrorized New York for a year. Berkowitz subsequently claimed that he was commanded to kill by a demon who possessed his neighbor's dog.

Berkowitz later amended his confession to claim he was the shooter in only two incidents, personally killing three people and wounding a fourth. The other victims were killed, Berkowitz claimed, by members of a violent Satanic cult of which he was a member. Though he remains the only person charged with or convicted of the shootings, some law enforcement authorities argue that Berkowitz's claims are credible: according to John Hockenberry[1] formerly of MSNBC, many officials involved in the original "Son of Sam" case suspected that more than one person was committing the murders. Hockenberry also reported that the Son of Sam case was reopened in 1996 and, as of 2004[update], it was still considered open.

Given enough time, and research i can easily come up hundreds more.

Finally your third point, in times past, the most notable diagnosis was schizophrenia, now called:
Signs and symptoms

Late adolescence and early adulthood are the most common peak years for the onset of schizoaffective disorder, although it can be diagnosed more rarely in childhood. These are critical periods in a person's social and vocational development which can be severely disrupted by disease onset.

Schizoaffective disorder is a mental illness characterized by mood swings and psychosis. Psychosis is defined by delusions and/or hallucinations. Individuals with the disorder experience psychotic symptoms at the same time as (but more commonly after) their depressive, mixed and/or manic episodes.

The illness tends to be difficult to diagnose since the symptoms are similar to other disorders with prominent psychotic symptoms like bipolar disorder with psychotic features, major depression with psychotic features and schizophrenia.

The main similarity between schizoaffective disorder and bipolar disorder with psychotic features and major depressive disorder with psychotic features, is that in all three disorders psychosis occurs during mood episodes. By contrast, in schizoaffective disorder, psychosis must also occur during periods without mood symptoms. In schizophrenia, mood episodes tend be absent or much less prominent than schizoaffective disorder. Since these distinctions can be difficult to detect, a firm diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder may thus require an extended period of observation and treatment.

Delusions may manifest as the individual believing he or she is Jesus or the Antichrist, has some special purpose or destiny (such as to save the world), or is being monitored or persecuted by governmental agencies, when in reality they are not. Individuals may therefore feel paranoid. Other delusions may include the belief that an external force is controlling the individual's thought processes. This delusion is formally called thought insertion.

Hallucinations involving the visual, auditory, olfactory, tactile and gustatory systems may occur. In lay terminology, the individual may see, hear, smell, feel or taste things that aren't there. For example, the individual may see overt visual hallucinations such as monsters, the devil or more subtle ones such as shadowy apparitions. Individuals may hear voices or, in some cases, music. Things may look or sound different. Individuals may also experience strange sensations. These hallucinations tend to worsen when the individual is intoxicated.

They may quickly change their minds about their friends or family if they hear something negative being said about them; as a result they may attack or, conversely, back away from the person or group until they regain normal thoughts, which takes treatment and time.

Comorbid or co-occuring anxiety disorders may also play a role in the subjective experience of schizoaffective disorder and thus may shape the individual's delusional thought content. For example, the individual may feel anxious, have trouble swallowing, and then believe that outside forces are controlling their throat functions. They may also suffer from various phobias which may also manifest as delusions.

There may be a decline in work or school functioning. Individuals with schizoaffective disorder may withdraw socially and become isolated.

Difficulties with thinking known as "cognitive deficits" may also be a problem for individuals with schizoaffective disorder. This may include difficulties with concentration, attention, logical reasoning and lack of impulse control.

The individual may sleep too much, or more often, be unable to sleep.

Without treatment, the individual with schizoaffective disorder may further worsen in their delusional thought processes and become further alienated from people and society.

With comprehensive treatment some individuals may recover much, most or even all of their functionality.

The physiology of patients diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder is similar to but not identical to that of those diagnosed with schizophrenia.[3]

How? Where?

In the early 80's Rock groups were under attack and accused of being Satan worshipers and what nots IE Kiss, Alice Cooper, AC/DC just to name a few.

It's not exactly "Hova the God MC." It's Hova, the self proclaimed greatest rapper alive. That and sasha fierce aren't very comparable to me. Hova is a spin off of Jehovah which in religious belief's is the name of God. It speaks for it self it would be considered blasphemy.

All rappers are usually well known in the rap community before they rise to stardom. T.I didn't really blow up outside the rap community until "Bring em out" IE after "Urban Legend" then only he started getting television and movie deals, and started calling himself the "King" like Jay. Kanye did a tribute to Jay "Big Brother". Who knew Lil Wayne last name was "Carter" until he jumped on Jay dick wanting to be the Best rapper alive. Jeezy has Jay whole hustler persona down pat. Jim Jones is just a Jay Z dick rider, he kept dude name in his mouth.

Ok, so referring to this story or tale was useless rhetoric.

Point two

You didn't answer the question or post evidence to back up your claims and I don't care how many hundreds more cases you can allegedly pull up.

Point 3, I asked what well documented cases were passed off as mental illness. That, which you copied and pasted while providing no source, did not answer the question and was irrelevant.

If you're going to claim how real demons are and insult people who say otherwise then you better be prepared to back up what you're saying or stop bullshitting around.
