I seen it on HBO....the visuals were rather avant garde and will go over her core audience's heads easily.
The poetry she borrowed was...some wannabe Maya Angelou type shit that sounded like psychobabble.
The lyrics were simple as usual...
The musical production was not that interesting. I gather some or all was produced by that Friday thru Saturday nigga.
I wasn't checking for it but nothing else was on before the fight...wish I could get my time back.
Black women will like it a lot though...white feminists will be pissy.
I find it interesting how all these mainstreamers wanna go all militant late into their careers...she's 20 years deep now. She and Prince were similar in that regard. The irony is not lost upon me.

Cant speak on the rest, but the poetry she used was from Warsan Shire who is well respected in art circles. Warsan is far from a wannabe Maya clone.

I'm watching it because Beyonce seems to have turned a corner in her life. She seems to have stopped trying to just be pop or hot and started trying to create a legacy for herself musically and culturally.
So normally...no I wouldn't check for beyonce cause she never made songs about anything I cared about.
Now she's making songs about black kids and black women and those are the 2 of 3 things that i DO care about.
