Y'all know damn well that the NBA has legally changed the laws of arithmetic!

6 > 11

Bill Russell barely knows defeat... he can't relate to all that struggling to overcome other teams and shit :lol: HS, College, Olympics, NBA he had 20 chances for titles and won 17 :itsawrap:... total domination. Taking virtually no L's

AND he wasn't taking any shit from cacs... even though republicans bought sneakers too.

But Russell wasn't the best player on all 11 of those championships. I never hear anybody giving Sam Jones and Havlicek a lick of credit despite the fact they won like 8 apiece and were the best offensive players on the team. For the last 3 Russ averaged like 12 points a game and if I'm not mistaken in the last one he wasn't a starter.

:yes::yes::yes::lol:

Not mention,Jordan did not revolutionize the game as Bill did....

Bill was the first who could be the most dominate player on the court...and not score a single point.

U talk about Ring, you talk about Winning..

Bill Russell
11 RINGS...

U talk about Defense...

U talk about coaching....

Bill Russell was the 1ST AND ONLY PLAYER-COACH IN PRO TEAM-SPORTS HISTORY.

If u are talking about All of that encompassed into 1. Russell.

Michael Jordan
If you talk about Raw Talent

U talking about Offense...

U talk about Defense...

you talk about statistics....

You talk about performer Better and Better when the stakes went higher...

U talk about impact on the Game...

U talk about commercial appeal...

Its a Hard won... Shit if they gave out FMVPs back then, Russell would have more than anybody....

You're talking about NBA career though... So basically Leading your team to Rings is what its about...

Greatest Athlete Ever: Michael Jordan
Greater NBA Career (if talking about winning only): Bill Russell

Bill Russell has ANY athlete beat in terms of Career.

Oh yeah, I forgot...

Jordan has 6 Bill Russells. But Russell has 0 Jordans... Think about it. That alone kills the comparison and gives Russell the edge by a mile!

But Russell wasn't the best player on all 11 of those championships. I never hear anybody giving Sam Jones and Havlicek a lick of credit despite the fact they won like 8 apiece and were the best offensive players on the team. How many titles did MJ win without Pippen?

MJ had more competition though.

Was Bill Russel facing, Ewing, Miller, Barkley, Olajuwon, Robinson, Malone.

The level of competition was so much higher with Jordan

Bill Russell probably had the greatest career in team sports. Between highschool, college and the professional level he failed to win a title like 3 times. That's just retarded.

He said "career'...not player.

You are mistaken...and you do understand that scoring is only one part of basketball.

Sam Jones,Hondo,Satch,KC,Cooz have always been given much credit for being part of the Celtic dynasty...and they would tell you, without Bill they win nothing.

Every game and title that he won,Russell was always the most dominate player on the court....even if he only scored 2 points.

Basketball 101...

The nba was like a Rec league at that time

Them niggas didn't even have 3 seconds

I always wondered who this old grandpa dude who be sittin next to David stern

I thought he was like Lebron grandpa or something :dunno:

Bill played against, and his teams regularly won against Wilt, what are you smoking?

That's the same cat they changed the rules to stop, unlike Jordan who had rules in his favor. :smh:

MJ got to play against better players........Russell only got to play against a majority of lackluster NBA players.
imagine Shaq playing back in Russell's era. MJ's era of play was more enjoyable to watch.
and not to mention he was an overall better player.

so with that being said....MJ.....hands down. These threads need to stop being made about who's the best.
its MJ....and that will not change.

Most of the cats in the league now would be crying back then.

No guaranteed contract: You had to earn your spot every year. You pull a Greg Oden? You gone, simple as that

No Expansion: So none of these Brian Cook, Kwame Brown, Darko, bitches. Cut half the league away and then maybe you got something.

No private planes and shit: A lot of times, cats were on the bus.

No Crabwalk dribble dribble, carrying or 3 point shot. That takes away 90% of todays NBA alone.

Cats today would get rolled up by men with superior mind states. Men against boys indeed. :smh:

first of all it's "dominant" and without those guys and Red Auerbach Russell doesn't win 11 championships. Russell was not the most dominant player in EVERY game or title he won. That's just silly especially in the last two finals he won where Hondo and Jones were clearly the Celtic's two best players. when a shot needed to be made to win the game it was one of those two who took the shot and before that it was Sharman, Jones or Heinsohn. I've SEEN Celtics finals games where Russell didn't really dominate at all except on the boards.

On top of all that he played in a 9 team league. No matter how you slice it that counts for something. To win 6 in Jordan's era was incredible plus the fact it's arguable he left two on the table. Plus the fact he dominated on both ends of the floor.

Question is easy the NBA is all about winning that's it, so that is Bill by a landslide you can't argue with 11 rings homie

Bill Russell played in a nine team league and alongside 12 other future HOF'ers and won 11 rings. Jordan played with one HOF for the first three champs and 2 for the last three in a league with 27-29 teams. Russell was a great player but I like Jordan's career better.

Oh man this ain't even close. Russell. The dude OWNED the NBA and that was when Wilt was in the league.

Bill Russell was so dominant to have a modern equivalent you'd have to combine Shaq, Hakeem and Kareem into one person.

The man had a 13 year career and won an championship in 11 OF THOSE YEARS.
