According to several sources, there appears to be serious consideration for WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (27-0, 21KOs) to defend his title against one-punch knockout artists Randall Bailey (41-7, 36KOs). Berto and Bailey are both promoted by Lou DiBella. Berto's team tried, without success, to get fights with Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto and Amir Khan. Berto was one of the three opponents being considered for a Pacquiao fight in May. Shane Mosley was ultimately selected to face Pacquiao.

There is a hungry challenger waiting in the wings, also promoted by DiBella, who goes by the name of Kermit Cintron. The Puerto Rican puncher is hungry for a shot at Berto and much tougher test than some of the champion's recent opponents.

Berto and Bailey are both Florida boxers. The fight would likely head to their home state if a deal is made. Bailey presents the danger of a one punch knockout at any time.

Berto better be careful because he didn't show the sturdiest chin against a light puncher like Collazo. Ain't Bailey a lil old though? I don't think Berto could beat Cintron.
