I think there is a lapse in judgment in how agendas work. They do not typically take fold in one presidency and the pressure must be kept constant. The ask must be at a similar volume and not see to die down. I've seen the pressure for reparations go low and high over decades. This latest pick up is getting back up the levels I've seen in the past. That's good.

Now thinking you can get this one agenda item over a vote for president. So short sited. Do you think not voting for one candidate gives you any leverage at all. Do you think an environment where the Republican party is at now by giving them any more power will lead to a gradual push for an agenda item of reparations in the future?

The place the pressure, it needs to be is congressional and senate primaries. An agenda must be set out with that on the plate... that ask need to always be there but the other things are important on your agenda as well. The support you show for that can shift priorities even if the candidate who is for reparations or whatever other ask are not going to win because momentum can make the other candidates shift. Take a shot at putting pressure in the Republican party too. Fuck a party make them come to your agenda. They don't see black people in large numbers at they stuff. Show up make them wonder and bring up all your agenda positions. They would easily be even more resistant than the Democrats to reparations but ask anyway... Keep the ask strong but they may give you more wiggle room on other agenda points. None of this shit is easy and it's not easy to get a decent size group of us to stick together to pull it off.

Some of the reactions on here are simple as someone is not for this one position so I won't vote. Sound like a lot of people on here looking at this like Checkers when they should be looking at it like Chess or that Chinese game that can get more complicated "Go".
